Bardy is an "old school" style DM. For the most part, I enjoyed my time playing under him. What broke the relationship, however, was an idea that he got to create tension and possibly invite PvP with a player I already was struggling to get along with. I don't understand why he thought that'd be OK. Anyway, we talked about it and I came to the conclusion that he's not a good DM for me. I left the group to step aside how he like to run things unimpeded. I'm not angry about it, just disappointed. I was really meshing with Bardy in the beginning and thought better of him than this.
Great PbP writer, but really struggles when players act outside the expected structure. I waited three weeks just to start, being charged for two, all because the intro probably needed to be perfect in their mind. Final straw for me was over smashing a skull that created a wierd rift in the group and was a small ordeal.
Joined an Out of the Abyss campaign for 5e. Ran the game like it was Dark Souls or Elden Ring, both games I hate, but have their places. Just not at the table, imo. My problem is, this GM kept making is arbitrarily hard to the point where the players (not just me) were borderline useless. Also uses profanity waaay more than I'd like from a "professional". Brilliant at everything else though. (ie, prep, enthusiasm, Foundry VTT preparation)
