About Matheus

Hello. My name is Matheus, but you can can me 'Heavy' or 'Matt' (I know, that in the tabletop community may cause a little bit of confusion). I am a relatively new Game Master from Brazil (🇧🇷) with around 3-4 years experience. In may 2024, a natural disaster struck in my city and I lost my house and my job, so I decided to dive into professional DMing as a way of making ends meet. Preparation is one of my favorite parts of the craft, so expect detailed, beatiful and thematic (battle)maps and encounters and general. Usually going for a good split of combat, exploration and gameplay, rewarding creativity and quick thinking. So get ready to wallop a goblin with an oversized sturgeon and let's get dicin'!

How Matheus runs games

🎨I love creativity and I'm always trying to make different goals for combat ⚔️; 🧩 Dynamic puzzles; 🧔🏼 Unpredictable social encounters. I usually try to balance the three pillars - exploration, role-playing and combat, but will almost always have a combat encounter per game session - unless the players set a role-´playing priority. Always go for detailed encounters because I love preparing and making voices and impressions, so expect a very immersive experience.

Matheus's ideal table

I don't like to handle and specially initiate confrontation at the table, so I'll be chill and hopefully the players will be too. If you have this mentality but can shift to drama when the action inside the game calls for, we'll have incredible adventures!
