Currently playing through Curse of Strahd with Joey the DM. Each session is infused with gothic dread, thanks to Joey's vivid descriptions and curated music. The atmosphere he creates is immersive, drawing us into Barovia. One of Joey's standout talents lies in his character voices. Each voice he crafts brings the tortured inhabitants of Barovia alive, making every interaction memorable and engaging. As every Dungeon Master knows, players often throw unexpected curve balls—be it through an unconventional action or a peculiar question. Joey handles these moments with remarkable skill and adaptability. He always strives to help the players achieve their goals or suggests alternatives that are fair, enjoyable, and logical within the context of the story. This flexibility not only keeps the narrative cohesive but also makes every decision feel meaningful and rewarding. In short, Joey the DM is a great Dungeon Master, and I can’t recommend him highly enough for anyone looking for an unforgettable Dungeons & Dragons experience.

Total beginner to Vaesen, the Alchemy platform and a group that I had never played with before. Tom gave a great introduction to the world of Vaesen, the core mechanics of the game and Alchemy. This was a one-shot adventure with Tom skilfully creating a foreboding atmosphere, populated with great characterisations, and guiding the players through a compelling narrative (even when the party split!). Tom gave each player time to shine in the game and bought the narrative to a satisfying conclusion. The session was a great introduction to Vaesen and can't wait to venture back to horrors of Norway with Tom.

Thirty years ago, I played D&D but due to work, family, and other commitments the character sheet and dice collected dust. But on a particularly dull Monday afternoon doom scrolling through the staff newsletter, I found this invitation. Are you seeking glory? Fabulous rewards? A sense of purpose? Then come one, come all to the Blackwater Tavern on the East Road from Neverwinter for the opportunity of a lifetime! With a sense of trepidation, I emailed. Mike replied and welcomed me and other adventurers into the domain of Strahd. And what a welcome. Mike’s DM’ing allows for player creativity, role playing and for each player to shine whether they are experienced, returning, or new to D&D. Mike creates a world filled with memorable characters, pitch perfect challenges, and a fun compelling game for all players. Highly recommended.
