About me

I consider myself to be a very patient and agreeable DM (see my testimonials on my website www.devondungeons.co.uk ) and have introduced dozens of new players to the wonderful game of Dungeons and Dragons over the years. I am not a complete stickler for the rules (although we should try and adhere to them as much as possible!) but just on that odd 'once in a blue moon' occasion, you have to let something minor slide if it stands in the way of a good story!

GM Style

I strive to make all of my games fully-inclusive of all peoples, and every game will begin with Session Zero free of charge! This initial meet-and-greet will allow everyone to introduce themselves and share their expectations with myself and the rest of the group. We will also use this opportunity to go through character creation, for any new players who need some assistance. The goal at the end of Session Zero is to have everyone all set to begin the adventure, so that we can dive right in! I am UK based (GMT), although I am looking to reach out to the Americans out there who would like a witty Englishman to DM for them! If you happen to be elsewhere in the world I am quite willing to alter my schedule if it means having you along for the journey, so please don't be afraid to reach out and see if we can make something work. These games will all take place over Discord for voice chat (cameras are recommended but absolutely not a requirement!) and for the best visual online experience we will be using the Roll20 website. Expect detailed battle maps, visual handouts for monsters/NPCs as well as interesting things you may uncover in the world, all beautifully and professionally presented in an easy to access format. As well as the sessions themselves, all of my players have the opportunity to chat about character ideas, storylines they'd like to pursue, rules questions and whatever else you wish to discuss with me at any time via my personal Discord server – full communication guaranteed!
