Austin is a terrifyingly good DM for my favourite kind of games - the ones that mix insightful and personalized storytelling with challenging, but not hyper-optimised combat. He never does things how they are written by default - instead, there are always bigger or smaller moments of interactivity between the plot and the player characters. Sometimes it's a sidequest, a single event, or just meeting an old friend from one's backstory; other times a whole section of a big dungeon is modified to fit something that a player came up with. Combined with a heavy focus on meaningful roleplay, it creates a mix that I basically fell in love with.
