Noralf is a very engaging and creative storyteller. His campaigns are rich in lore and narrative, and the amount of effort he invests in the weekly episodes is quite apparent. He describes himself as "rules light" but don't confuse that for a lack of structure or that he doesn't know the rules---he's much more interested in the flow of the encounter and ensuring that things are on point rather than measuring things down to the millimetre. I have had a chance to discuss campaign scenarios with him when he found the source material lacking, and during those conversations I got to look through a window into his mind. He is very concerned about subplots making sense in the larger context of the campaign as well as ensuring that combat encounters have a point in building the plot. If you’re looking for a highly intelligent, thoughtful and creative storyteller that gives you plenty of room for your character to develop in the context of the campaign, give him an opportunity to win you over.
Enigma works hard to develop a partnership with his players in support of collaborative storytelling. If you have a well thought out idea for you character, he will work with you to flesh it out and seamlessly slide it into the worldbuilding. He is creative, thoughtful, and really wants to find cool ideas to enhance the campaign. I found him very approachable and open to feedback, and I would not hesitate to play in another of his campaigns.
I have main two points of feedback: 1) The Elenia Toth world is one of my favourite homebrew worlds that uses real life archetypes as the starting point for launching into a high fantasy world full of richness and intrigue. If you like understanding "world lore" and developing your character's backstory and personal lore as the backdrop for adventure, you will really enjoy Elenia Toth. 2) Jayk is the rare combination of an analytical, RAW GM combined with professional-grade creativity that makes him the complete package when it comes to running a game. Do you want to navigate the intricacies of combat under heavy obscurity and the impact on each action and dice roll? That's Jayk. Do you want to improv role play for an hour straight as you colour in your character and the world around you? Jayk will go toe-to-toe with you. The best compliment I can give Jayk as a DM is that as an experienced player, his greatness implicitly challenges me to be better. This is why I say that if you want to take your own game to the next level, jump in one of his games today.
Jacob is a very knowledgeable and entertaining DM who knows his stuff and encourages the rule of cool. I really appreciate his expert knowledge of the rules that keeps things honest without lording over the action---in fact, I think he appreciates when people work within the rules to try and do the coolest things possible within the context of the campaign. He definitely knows how to deliver a positive experience to the players and he will do more than his part to make sure you have a campaign to remember.
I was relatively new to Level 20 combat when I joined Robyn's arena combat one shot. I'm not going to lie, it was somewhat intimidating think all you need to do individually and collectively (with a team of strangers) to win one massive fight against multiple high level mobs and their accompanything minions. It will challenge your character building and your decision making to the fullest, and without a doubt you will learn from Robyn and your fellow team mates and become a better player. When you think you're ready to test your character and yourself, Robyn's amazing battle area is waiting to give you a fantastic experience regardless of the outcome.
