Kevin. is. so. GOOD! He checks off all the boxes for what I believe a good DM should be. He knows how and when best to follow rules as written, but also follow "rule of cool". If the former applies, Kevin is polite and fair in saying that the request/action won't work, BUT then immediately provides options to still accomplish the desired task. "Sorry [Player], that won't quite work the way you are asking, however, here's an option that will work to still do that cool thing." He is very familiar with the rules, and I was quite impressed with how well-versed he was in all of our characters' abilities and actions! My man did his homework! Many times Kevin was aiding us players when we were stumped or forgetting certain aspects of our characters. I've played in D&D sessions where I've felt my character's backstory and quirks weren't quite utilized, but just in the first session with Kevin, I was completely surprised with the level of care he took in using so much of the PCs' backstory to fuel the story and campaign setting. On a note personal to each actual player, Kevin is respectful of everyone's experience level and comforts and discomforts. He is adamant about creating an environment that is fun, and safety is always first. If you are somebody looking for the suspense and thrill of adventure while also being able to exercise the creativity and craziness of your own mind, then Kevin's games are for you!
