About me
I've been running games for twenty years. My games are an in-depth narrative experience centered around the player characters individual story arcs set in a detailed world that adapts to their story decisions. Detailed world building is a passion of mine, especially high fantasy with a solid grounding in reality. It seems like a conflict but I love the challenge. Whatever the players find interesting I love to explore and expand upon. To bring these worlds to life I create maps for world overview, encounters and visual aids. I am always looking for players who want to live in these worlds with me, and I count on their feedback and contributions to keep getting better at my craft as a storyteller.
GM Style
My style is story and setting focused. I work with the players to craft satisfying story arcs for their characters. I build a lot of NPCs for the players to interact with. I interpret game mechanics based on what facilitates the story and player fun. I reward player cooperation. My combats come from the narrative, and I like both tactical and dramatic combat styles and I tailor the balance to the group. I create my own settings most of the time. I have run the occasional module.

I entered Kevin's game as a beginner. Not just a novice; I created my first character for this campaign, and it was my first real exposure and experience with d&d. Kevin has been helpful and engaging, without being too directive. Would definitely recommend.

Kevin. is. so. GOOD! He checks off all the boxes for what I believe a good DM should be. He knows how and when best to follow rules as written, but also follow "rule of cool". If the former applies, Kevin is polite and fair in saying that the request/action won't work, BUT then immediately provides options to still accomplish the desired task. "Sorry [Player], that won't quite work the way you are asking, however, here's an option that will work to still do that cool thing." He is very familiar with the rules, and I was quite impressed with how well-versed he was in all of our characters' abilities and actions! My man did his homework! Many times Kevin was aiding us players when we were stumped or forgetting certain aspects of our characters. I've played in D&D sessions where I've felt my character's backstory and quirks weren't quite utilized, but just in the first session with Kevin, I was completely surprised with the level of care he took in using so much of the PCs' backstory to fuel the story and campaign setting. On a note personal to each actual player, Kevin is respectful of everyone's experience level and comforts and discomforts. He is adamant about creating an environment that is fun, and safety is always first. If you are somebody looking for the suspense and thrill of adventure while also being able to exercise the creativity and craziness of your own mind, then Kevin's games are for you! Two thumbs up from me, and a third thumb up from my spectral Mage Hand, good sir!
