About me

I enjoy all things Dungeons and Dragons. I started playing in the 1980's, with a Basic D&D Starter set, and went on to 1st Edition, AD&D for most of younger years in gaming. I did not get very far in 2nd Edition, and took a long break from playing in the 90s. Then, as we all know, D&D exploded in popularity with the 2020 pandemic. And I have been playing 5E games ever since. Just recently received the 2024 PHB and am looking forward to trying the new fun options. Also still am happy to play any 2014 5e builds.

Never a dull moment at David's table. Spectacular narrations, whimsical roleplay opportunities abound, and although rules are followed, there is just enough flexibility at DM discretion to allow for plenty of creative and fun shenanigans. I give him an A+++, for the some of the most memorable campaign moments in years of playing D&D.

I didn't want to say it in session, but I am an experienced player, old school from the 80's. This was my first time at KC's table, and it was a blast! She hosted a "Faster Purple Worm, Kill, Kill" themed adventure. True to form, PC's met amusingly horrific deaths. Roleplay was encouraged, and it made the adventure loads of fun. I'd like to try longer adventures at her table in the future, as I'm sure they would also be great fun with role playing, and she seems like a fun and serious enough DM to hold attention and create a truly memorable campaign. Even though this was a one shot, I see some great potential with KC as an amazing DM. This game was clearly advertised with TPK potential, and the roleplay, even in character death, was quite fun. I don't think she'd pull any punches in an extended campaign either, which is awesome. Dungeons and Dragons is game of chance, roleplay, heroic moments and sometimes even hilarious blunders. If you are looking for a truly memorable experience, I recommend trying her table. Two thumbs up, way up for her first attempt on SPG. Very impressed with this DM.. A+++

Calvin, AKA "Boo" was a fanastic DM. So many memorable moments in this one-shot. The only thing missing were props and and a studio audience. He should seriously be on a weekly YouTube channel, if not yet hosting one. The setting was fast and fun, a perfect chance to test out some never before played options. Roleplaying was encouraged, and since we all knew the session would end in a TPK, we got even more daring and uproarious than normal in a game, to completely go full tilt on a BBEG we knew could easily have us for dinner. Great fun, laughs and all out bloody great combat. My only regret is, the game is over in one session. Looking forward to trying more of Calvin's one-shots, and if time permits, would be happy to check out one of his regular campaigns. HUZZAH!!!

Chris is a fantastic DM. He respected my creative process to build just the right character for my tastes, and also was helpful to figure out how things would work with our group's dynamics. So far, this is one of the most fun start's to a campaign I have experienced in a long time. I have been wanting to play Storm King's Thunder for a long time now, and it was worth the wait, in finding Chris to DM it. He not only hosts internet games, but some of his players are lucky enough to join him all the way in South Africa, for D&D seasonal D&D table top weekends. I think that is amazing. Don't let his affordable prices concern you, he is a 5 star DM. There was an even mix of combat and roleplay, and never a dull moment. Also, definitely check out his one-shot heist adventure, "Fishgut Tower Heist". This is an exciting and challenging one-shot, with great teamwork opportunities. I can't wait till the next session. I'm sure he's a fine DM, in a. Long term campaign. But his one-shot fell apart at the start. Giving him 3 stars for effort, as technical issues by Foundry were not entirely his fault. However, I would recommend. A brief session zero prior to game time in the future, to prevent surprises. Also, I did not see the need to be using so many platforms all at once in a one shot. The music came on blaring, with no prep on how to turn it down. Using "Steam" to interact with "Tale Spire", had no prior explanations before game time, which created delays. And Foundry not working at all today was a real bummer. One-shots could easily be played in a quick Roll20 connect with Beyond20 Chrome Extension, at least as a backup plan. Had o way to prep before session with all the issues. 4 star DMs had all character sheets loaded prior to session. 5 star is earned by a positive session overall, after the technical aspects are met. Was however, impressed with his initial follow-up. I think this DM has some bugs to work out, and needs to consider a quicker set up option for one-shots. Probably he does great in a stable weekly session, but felt he was not adapting well to pop up issues, telling me to wait for setup issues that could have been fixed prior to session. I arrived 30 minutes early to get set up, and he clocked in at session time. In my book, that is late, as he admitted there he had already been experiencing issues with Foundry prior to game time. This is where a backup plan would have been good, or better yet, use a less detailed option for one-shots. Not intending this as a slam on the guy, he tried. Hoping he is open to constructive criticism as a means to go from average to outstanding.
