About Shaun
I'm Shaun, a very invested and player-focused DM. I've DMed for several groups over the years, and been a player as well. I have preferred being a DM because of how invested I get when I play D&D and I want to build an entire world for my players. I enjoy DMing for new players as well as anyone who just seems enthusiastic to play every week and has a sense of wonder and intrigue. I am very open minded to all homebrew subclasses and items within reason. Overall I'm just very passionate for D&D and would love to play with a long term group as passionate as I am!

I became a GM because
When I was a player I was so obsessed with learning more about the game and thinking about the next session. Shortly after I learned enough I realized I would prefer being a DM because of how much I loved making the worlds and taking over with the creativity.
How Shaun runs games
I love to DM for new players and casual groups. My style emphasizes exploration, worldbuilding, plot progression, unique and difficult combat, and player focus. I will ensure that the world is built around the players and their strength, weaknesses, and backstories, rather than force them into a world that does not suit them.
Shaun's ideal table
I enjoy a table with players who embrace the fun. I like to have lots of fun and silly moments with my groups, share a few jokes, and then get back to the seriousness of the game. Overall just players who can take a joke and enjoy some humor are welcomed. Anyone who is passionate and willing to commit to roleplay is also welcomed. It makes it easier for everyone to match the energy when more players are willing to speak up and RP.

I love it when a player
Pays attention and cooperates with the rest of the group. In new groups it is very easy to feel isolated as the odd one out, but players that embrace cooperative roleplay help everyone feel included and match that energy.
I think metagaming...
takes away from the creative experience that D&D does such a good job embracing. I love having diverse characters with clear goals and unique classes for variety. If you want to play a class that you think is too weak, I don't mind making some changes as we see fit.
