I enjoyed Cath's storytelling. She is fun, intelligent, charismatic, a good worldbuilder, good with her pacing. She has the unique ability to know when to let the characters riff vs when it's time to get the cat herd moving. She struggled with managing table dynamics and safety tools.
Avel is a fantastic DM. She is a gifted content creator on many levels, and puts a lot of energy and thought into everything, from characters to maps to every detail of her worlds in-between. Also, she's the perfect ratio of kind and sassy, and has an impeccable sense of humor. You are in for a treat if you game with her.
Lexi is clearly passionate about the games she runs, and creates wonderful voices and personas. Her DM style is a bit more rigid than many on SPG: she definitely puts the rules ahead of other considerations. Also, she isn't afraid to admonish players when she believes they aren't engaging with the activity of the session, show up late without notification, etc. This may be off-putting to some who want a more chillaxing RP experience. If you don't mind your DM being a bit regimental though, and appreciate someone who really puts research in to make your game more realistic, she's a good option to consider.
Joe is a fantastic DM. He's great at imparting that sense of verisimilitude - making you feel like you're really there, as your character. There aren't many DMs on SPG that have the hutzpah to run their own homebrew creations, but Joe pulls it off, running adventures that can go toe to toe with the best the pros print. Also, he's pretty good with Foundry VTT, which is the best VTT in my opinion, and his voice game is highly entertaining. Bottom line: Joe's games get you pumped.
Tom is a wonderful GM. He always brings a fantastic energy to the game. A good example of this are his "inspiration challenges" at the beginning of a session. Sometimes it tests our knowledge of the campaign so far or D&D in general, and sometimes its just funny. But that's how we earn our inspiration for the session! And things only go up from there. Tom is very rules-knowledgeable, but he's much more committed to the "Rule of Cool" rather than "Rules as Written." So many of our combats have felt especially epic because unexpected things happen, we make decisions as our characters in response, and Tom lets the situation play out with results both good and bad. And Tom keeps rolling with it, as a great storyteller does. If you're looking for a D&D session that's really cool and a lot of fun, Tom is one of the best GMs you could ask for.
