I really enjoyed the session I got to play with Jonathan. He is helpful in creating characters, understands the rules of DnD, and allows for player creativity in problem-solving through an encounter. He understands game balance well enough to make his combat encounters both challenging and rewarding, knows all the classes and their mechanics, and he is just a really fun person to play the game with all-around! Hopefully your session will go as great as mine did!

Without exception, Matt is the best GM I have ever gamed with at StartPlaying. I have never been in games that are as challenging nor as rewarding as the ones he runs are and I am constantly on the edge of my seat during his sessions as a result. He is a master at incorporating player character backstories and decisions into the overall narrative, giving your character a real stake and interest in what is happening around them. He knows how to set a session's mood through the use of music, minis and descriptions, and he allows plenty of time for players to engage in roleplay and character development, as well. Matt is fantastic at offering you phenomenal gaming experiences that are filled with exceptional story elements, dramatic combat encounters and intriguing routes worthy of being explored. In other words, there is something for literally every style of player at his gaming table.

It has been a real treat to play in a campaign run by chrispychickin! He does such an incredible job setting up his games, and it's very evident just how much work goes on behind-the-scenes based on how well-prepared he is and how well he understands the world/lore he is presenting to you. When a GM can do Theatre of the Mind well, you know you've found a great GM! More importantly, he helps you feel welcome at his table, fosters a relaxing and engaging gaming atmosphere and really goes out of his way to help make sure you are having fun as a player. I look forward to each weekly session as it is the type of campaign you really strive to find as a player. Whether you are new or old to TTRPG games, chrispychickin is a phenomenal GM to check out!

I had a lot of fun playing in one of Jason's first one-shots here at StartPlaying. He did such a fantastic job navigating our party through an old-school dungeon crawl and understood how to set the scene using theatre of the mind. It's been a while since I played a level 1 one-shot and I was thoroughly entertained throughout the adventure. Thank you for running a fun game, Jason!

I had a phenomenal time playing in Warren's Alien game! The truth is, if you're looking for a gaming experience that allows you to actually feel like you're starring in your very own Alien movie, look no further than this GM! Everything from the slow build, to the atmosphere, to the character interactions, to the descriptions, to the use of sound effects... it all led to an incredibly cinematic gaming experience for all present. At the time I'm writing this, I'm only halfway through the story arch, as our adventure is very much a two-parter, but I just couldn't wait to recommend this GM to you! Warren is welcoming to new players, easy to work with and allows you plenty of freedom to approach problems from multiple perspectives as a team. I truly cannot wait to see the conclusion of this story!
