Jaycob is a great GM. He seamlessly maintains the flow of the story and makes sure everyone has a chance to get involved. Very helpful and attentive with game prep and masterfully adapts the direction and story to the players' decisions, making for fun and unique sessions. It's been awhile since I've done a "theatre of the mind" session, but his detailed descriptions, engaging voices, and ambient music allowed for an immersive gameplay experience. And of course, pulling out the battle-maps when the time calls for it. Would recommend. ^w^
A mellow and fun GM. He knows how to bring characters to life in interesting ways. He ensures everyone gets a chance to take action in the adventure, checks in that everyone is on the same page and keeps the flow going when the group's ready to progress. Before sessions begin, he remains attentive and available to answer questions and set things up so the fun can start as soon as everyone's ready at game time. Breaks are also in place, allowing the group to catch a breather and come back well-refreshed to continue the adventure. Overall, he's a calm yet entertaining GM with amusing NPC interactions, is open to questions way before the session starts, gives everyone a chance to act, and knows when to move on and when to take five.
A great GM who can create a well-thought-out world with lore to connect your characters to the campaign. Adventures don't require a perfectly rounded party, yet specialized characters are acknowledged and given the chance to shine. He allows players to try out-of-the-box ideas, yet ensures it remains balanced for the adventure to preserve the fun, drama, and intrigue. His world design allows players to learn, explore, and experience things for themselves allowing them to gain a better understanding and creatively resolve the well-designed puzzles and challenges they face. Overall, a fun GM with simple yet interactive puzzles, engaging combat, deep lore for characters to connect to, and openness to letting characters discover things for themselves while giving them the freedom to explore along the path of the adventure. ^w^
A all-around great GM. This was my first time playing a pre-generated character and Colby made it work. He was patient and gave me an extra moment to get the hang of my character while making sure to keep the adventure going for the other players. He was also open to bending the rules and making allowances for the sake of the smoothness of the adventure. The experience was overall fun and welcoming and I'd like to do another session with him sometime.
A fantastic GM. I've been with him for over a year and am on my 3rd campaign. Rah encourages roleplay by having the campaign focus on the characters. He finds ways to seamlessly and justifiably incorporate backstories and motives into the adventure. Even if you don't have a backstory, as long as you have an open mind and willingness to try, he'll help you make it work. He's inclusive, giving everyone a chance to shine. He also allows players to find creative solutions for problems, from subduing and interrogating enemies; to stakeouts and mysteries. Yet, he ensures things stay reasonable, so RAI/RAW exploits won't (always) fly. Having Rah as a GM is like having a fun, safe place to bring your PCs to life on a character-driven adventure, rather than if you're playing to "win" by acing every challenge while killing and looting every foe your encounter. Overall great GM, especially if you enjoy RP, co-op, and creativity.
