I like that Vines does not lock content behind skill challenges. Failing to see, and thus find, a secret that the party needs could put a grinding halt to any campaign. Vines chooses who sees what based on the character's proclivities. I find this system much better and more narrative focused than random rolls for story critical information. Vines also asks the players what their characters think of a thing that has happened in game, which prompts constructive table-talk and helps all of the players in getting to know the other PCs.

Our host knew how to help "rusty" players get back in their groove, and made sure to include everybody.
