About Robert
Been a gamemaster since the late 2000's, playing a ton of indie games and mainstream games beforehand since 2nd Edition D&D. Most of my experience as a GM is from games like Dragon Age, Ironclaw, Myriad Song, Pathfinder 1E, D&D 3.5 and 4th Edition, and Forbidden Lands primarily. Looking to just have some fun for a few months with a new campaign and hoping to meet some new people.

I became a GM because
Someone asked me to. Nothing really special about it. I was asked to take over a game, so I began running it, and it was a fun enough experience; I keep doing it now.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Mostly working my day job, but also reading, writing, twitch streaming and gaming in other ways.
How Robert runs games
I like to think of myself as a players' GM, in a sense. Provide a mix of challenges through both combat and roleplay, and while I would work to stay within the rules (or close to the spirit of it), I am flexible in providing some freedom to my players. Combat can be quick but distinct, sometimes with puzzles involved. I tend to prefer more grounded worlds and game scenarios, but this also makes high drama in more high fantasy settings. I love setting up roleplay scenarios, and I encourage players to improvise or think outside the box with them if possible, but ultimately the players drive the story more than me; I am just setting things up ultimately and seeing what happens.

Rules are...
Important, but also shouldn't get in the way of people enjoying themselves. So long as we play within the rules, or as close to the spirit of the rules as possible, we can have cool things happen through it. Rule of Cool within reason, basically.
When it comes to voices
I have terrible accents, but I try them anyway. Honestly its no big deal in the end, as it's all in good fun.
Robert's ideal table
Featured Prompts
I am for a vibe that's...
Mostly casual. Generally, I feel that you take the world and the material seriously, but not yourselves seriously. It makes things so much easier and, honestly, a lot more fun.
My table is not the place for...
Racism, misogyny, and/or bigotry. Everyone should have fun and should feel safe having fun, especially from other players who try to take that away from them.
