About Gin

Hello! My name is Gin (they/them/theirs). I'm a nonbinary illustrator, college student, and dungeons & dragons enthusiast! My experience with tabletop games has been one of connecting with people around me and collaborating to tell a good story.

I became a GM because

There is nothing more rewarding to me than hosting and entertaining people! Plus, I love creating vivid, rich worlds with my players for them to explore, as well as designing several NPCs for them.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Either at work, session prepping, playing video games, or creating something!

How Gin runs games

I love going the extra mile to build a beautiful world and story for both myself and my players. I love role playing, creating puzzles, and building several different kinds of encounters—because as a player and game master, I believe that there is more out there for a table than "only" combat and social. As an artist, I love to create for my players; as we build PCs and NPCs, I offer abundant hand-drawn full art for them to take with them. Visual and auditory aspects are both INCREDIBLY important to me to make the experience immersive!

I prep by

locking myself into my space, turning on some excellent instrumentals to jam out to, review the previous session's notes, check with other threads in my obsidian vault, then confidently follow what I like to call "inspired and inferred inspiration."

Gin's ideal table

I like to think of my table as a warm place to be, somewhere you know you can sit down and have time for pleasantries before we get down to "business." Players that care about their characters, as well as the world that they're in, and those that love role playing will thrive at my table! I love when players are curious, ask questions, and when they get creative; getting the "yes, and..." going at just the right time with my players really sets the tone that we're in this together, it's not just my creation, it's Our World and Our Story!

I love it when a player

contributes to the worldbuilding in any way, really! I love to homebrew worlds, but I think what really makes a world become "living" is when players add pieces of themselves into it, because it gives them a reason to care and want to find out more!

My perfect party mix is

Creative players, storytellers, players not afraid to role play amongst each other as well as with NPCs. Players who are willing to commit to the "yes, and..." as well as the "can I [...]" "you may certainly try!" when the moments strike.

My table is not the place for...

Disrespecting others, whether it's related to our time together, or for more callous behavior. I have a zero tolerance policy for bullying, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and so forth.
