About Travis
The creative writer in me thrives off of this. I found a love for dungeons and dragons and really couldn't turn away from it since 5th edition. Whether it is creating new characters for games I hope to play in the future, new or interesting combinations, world building or finding that perfect song to represent the emotional moment in a player's story, I love it all. My dog spike is not so thrilled with dungeons and dragons but feeds off my excitement towards the stories we all create together! Talk dnd with me! I would love to hear your creative combinations, roleplaying, and backstories! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to shoot me a message!

I got started GMing...
because I love creative writing. I love storytelling and the messages people take away from it. I wanted to provide entertainment and also provoke emotion and thoughts from my friends. I made my own classes, abilities, world (otherwise homebrewed) which as a first time DM might have been a mistake.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Watching anime, playing video games, walking my dogs, working out. I'm currently watching My Hero Academia and Spy X Family. I'm gaming to some Monster Hunter Wilds in anticipation of master rank. I'm grinding for some decent talismans. Spike likes long walks and playing with other dogs.
How Travis runs games
Hit me with your mythical and magical. I'm here for as much roleplay as everyone wants to do! I have players that just want thrilling combats, I have players that like to drive the story by doing more roleplaying than actual quest completion. I love the creative of DnD. You can be as much or as little of anything you want. My ultimate goal is for you to have as much fun as you can playing the character you want to play. If that's just hitting stuff, awesome I can provide that. If you want, you character to develop and have a great story/purpose I will do my best to give you those magical movie moments.

I deal with rules issues by...
talking it out with the table. Rules are important to the structure of the game, but some are hard to interpret. I love the moments when players do something unexpected and there isn't an answer in the books. I reward creativity more often than not as long as it doesn't slight the other players.
My games focus on...
heavy roleplaying. creating opportunity for everyone to shine. I want character to be engaged with the sessions whether that be solving puzzles, fighting monsters, or having fun dealing with whatever shenanigans the party gets themselves into. At the end of the day, I want everyone to have fun.
Travis's ideal table
My table is usually roleplay heavy. I'm all for diving into character narratives and us all collectively telling a story together. I also enjoy testing out new builds that may only be for one shot purposes.

I love it when a player
Is passionate about their character. We all have a story to tell and I can't wait to tell it with you. With the help of some dice and some good friends we can make a tale like no other.
I think it's a red flag when players...
Try to copy someone else. At that point you are trying to have the fun they had instead of your own experiences. Make your own unique and quirky characters. My fear is a players expectation of what fun looks like based on someone else's experience. Don't box yourself in.
I think min/maxing...
Is great if that's what you enjoy. I've certainly built my unstoppable builds before as a player. The important thing is enjoying yourself. If that looks like a character with no weaknesses, then hell yeah. If you have fun theorizing and crunching numbers, I'm right there with you.
