About Scott

New to D&D? No problem. Many of my players started with little or no experience. I enjoy teaching the game and helping new players feel comfortable from their very first session. I’ve been DM-ing for 5 years and playing for many more. I'm passionate about cooperative storytelling and strategy games. I DM official modules and custom campaigns using AboveVTT and more recently DnDBeyond Maps.

I got started GMing...

Our in-person GM moved to another state and I didn't want to stop playing. I had no idea what I was doing but I got our group together, planned something based on World of Warcraft maps/lore, and just rolled with it. Everyone had an awesome time and after a few years we are in our second campaign.

Playing in them :) But also enjoying life with my wife, playing with our two Siamese cats, reading books, traveling, learning the bass guitar and the Italian language.

How Scott runs games

My campaigns are a mix between immersive roleplay and meaningful combat. I try to ensure that your encounters are actually something that moves the story forward or improves character progression. I always make sure that your background impacts the setting, even on officially published campaigns, making it an unique experience. Give me a 38 page backstory or tell me your drunken chaos goblin just woke up in a ditch and I'll try my best to help your character shine!

there to guide us in the right direction, but imagination and fun for all will always open up other ways to do things. I'm always open to ideas to improve everyone's experience at the table.

I am no Matt Mercer but I will give it my all and some will be glorious and some will make you cringe a little but we will have fun :)

I love happy people and love to make people happy. We all have our bad days but always try to bring good vibes. Let your imagination flow and make me facepalm when you totally outsmart my boss fight. As Bill and Ted once said, "be excellent to each other".

I love it when a player

brings other players into the spotlight. One of my jobs as a DM is to help ensure everyone has fun and feels important in their own way. When players help each other have fun it makes me happy.

I think min/maxing...

is ok if it allows you to have fun without taking fun away from other people. Always remember that some of the best stories told come from a 'flaw' in a character. Just have fun!
