About Andrew Martin

I am here to do what I can to make the game enjoyable for the group, whatever that means for each person. This is regardless of whether I am playing or running. Because if the group isn't enjoying themselves and making memories then what's the point in playing in the first place? Also I make content for various TTRPGs and can be requested to make content for other Tabletop RPGs as well. Here is some of my free promotional content for all of your enjoyments. https://yoshtheguardian.itch.io

I got started GMing...

At the Age of 10. I enjoyed my first games so much that I read the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide and Monster Manuals front to back like they were regular books to prepare initially.

My favorite system of all Time is

Anima: Beyond Fantasy. Underappreciated game for storytelling and for character design that keeps the game balanced- even between players who are newer and ones who power and meta-game.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Designing and conceptualizing content for the games, or creating my own games. Aside from the normal time with friends, family and work of course.

How Andrew Martin runs games

I dedicate my efforts to the design of my games to tailor to the specific interests of my players. I listen for their feedback and requests, try to provide everyone some of their favorite parts of gaming throughout, and try to make the story about the players' characters.

My games focus on...

Making the overall story as engaging for the entire group as possible. Balance the combat vs intrigue vs roleplay and all else to what it seems the group is feeling up for each session.

Rules are...

such that the GM is the final Arbiter of the Rules. Rule of Cool, Rules that are balanced and fair to the players- and most importantly the point of the game is that the players are having fun. Otherwise why bother?

When it comes to voices

Yeah, I am fairly good at voice play. But I'll only do so much of cringey such as the players seem to enjoy and/or request.

Andrew Martin's ideal table

The goal of my table? Ultimately an experience: something that is unique to the characters and world the players want to play. Players who are genuinely themselves, but are still courteous of what the other players care about as well create a cohesive and a fluid flow to enjoy the game. These are the players that fit the best. The vibe is typically high energy- with plenty of time for decisions and rolls that make inside jokes and stupid laughs without sacrificing the serious tales woven.

Featured Prompts

I am for a vibe that's...

Taking the game seriously- but not so seriously that we can't laugh with one another and about the dice's decisions.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

flexibility and improvisational leads to the story based on your choices as players

I love it when a player

Makes a decision that is genuine to what their character would do- even if it's not the meta decision to make. This is for builds or for roleplay decisions.
