About me
Hi I'm William! I am many things, but most simply I am a giant, optimist, nerd, and lover of stories. I love the way tabletop games are such a unique opportunity for creative storytelling. My goal is to create a fleshed out world that players can fully interact with, and the space to embody and evolve their characters. Pulling from a strong improv and theater background, I try and fill the world we play in with life, for anything from a goofy romp to a dark epic. Flexibility, empathy, and creativity are my driving forces and I hope we can tell awesome stories together. I am excited to hear your ideas and would love to try to make your perfect game, so feel free to message me if you have a custom game you would like me to run.
GM Style
I am a flexible GM. I build worlds and then go with the flow within them. I'm comfortable being a by-the-book wargamer or a rules-loose role-player; whatever the group needs I enjoy deeply. I am always happy to do character voices and anything else that helps build out a world and flush out a story with the players at the center. No one genre or style is my favorite, though my go-to when I throw a one-shot together with friends is a Forgotten-Realms-adjacent fantasy world with bits aplenty. I am a game designer by trade and collaborative worldbuilding is my favorite thing about a good TTRPG - no matter the size of a universe, I always try to make it deep enough to dive in.

Two sessions in, and I'm having a great time. William's game is relaxed and fun, and he gives the players plenty of rein to follow whatever unorthodox ideas they come up with. Good balance between rules and 'rule of cool'. Looking forward to the next session!

William is great at saying, "Yes, and," to the wonderful and hilarious things his players throw at him, while still maintaining a reasonable expectation of what the characters would actually be capable of. I was cautious about playing with people I'd never met before, but the environment William cultivated at the table led to one of the most fun one-shots I've ever played!
