About Skie

I've been running games for around 12 years now, focusing on long-term campaign-length stories and world building for tables of 3-6. Of the three TTRPG pillars [combat, discovery, and social], I lean more towards discovery and social as any Encounter can be fraught or challenging without the need for overt combat. Additionally, I've been a member of the Monte Cook Games Asset Team for a few years now. I have experience running multiple learn-to-play games at my local Board Game Shop, run multiple concurrent long-term games, and support and mentor fellow GMs in my online communities. I believe that TTRPGs are collaborative story telling and are incredibly satisfying opportunities to explore ideas, delve into mysteries, and make new friends. In terms of systems I am familiar with - I run Numenera, Cypher System, Invisible Sun, Daggerheart, and Coyote and Crow. I make an effort of keeping up with a wide range of TTRPGs such as Inspireisles, Fifth Season, Blue Rose, Overlight, Substratum Protocol, and Drakonym. I run both published and custom content. Finally, I run my games primarily over Discord or Foundry. Cameras are not required but I do expect punctual attendance. I also integrate safety tools (lines/veils, x-card, consent form) from the get-go and utilize cooldown tools (stars and wishes). Please let me know if you have any questions! How Skie runs games

I run games that lean into exploration and discovery, with social and combat elements mixed in. I am best at running long-form campaigns with overarching metaplots and personalized character arcs. I enjoy running one-shots as a means of introducing the rules and the setting to new players. I enjoy making virtual props and integrating interactive visuals, music, and art into sessions.

Featured Prompts

I prep by

Compiling music, visuals, interactive elements, and ensuring each session or story is tailored to the table. I love worlds to feel like they're alive and, when able, like to include nods to this.

My games focus on...

Exploration and discovery with a dash of social and combat. I love creative problem solving by my players.

Rules are...

there to facilitate the story. They are a guide.

Skie's ideal table

My ideal table is one that is enthusiastic about collaborative storytelling, shared spotlight, roleplay, and has an emphasis on narrative. Players that are willing to learn, willing to share, and open to new things do well at my table.

Featured Prompts

I love it when a player

Leans into their character's journey and personality to make strongly on-theme and on-character choices.

My table is not the place for...

I don't cater to min-max or hyper-efficient character builds. Optimizing to the point of no-challenge isn't fun for me to run games for. If that's your jam, fair enough but there are other tables focused on that.
