About Rgee Bautista

I started GMing about four years ago for a group of friends. What began as something I wanted to try has grown into a long-running game that we’ve continued playing together ever since. I’ve loved D&D long before I became a GM. I spent years watching actual plays, learning about the game, and digging into the technical side of running sessions. Over time, that interest naturally turned into a passion for creating and running games of my own. One of my favorite parts of being a GM is crafting stories and worlds for my players to explore. I love seeing the unexpected ways players interact with a world, solve problems, and shape the story through their own decisions. While I may have an idea of where a story could go, I enjoy letting the players’ choices create moments I never could have planned myself. For me, a great D&D game is a collaborative story where everyone gets the chance to contribute, have fun, and create memorable moments together.

I ran my first game...

Four years ago, a friend wanted to try D&D. I had never DM'd before, but I knew the most about the game, so I stepped up. We started with three friends, and four years later, we haven't missed a session and have welcomed even more friends to our table.

My favorite books are

My favorite book author would have to be Brandon Sanderson. The Mistborn Trilogy and the Stormlight Archives are my favorites. However, some books special to me are The Magic Strings of Franky Presto, Artemis Fowl, Rainmaker, and Tuesdays with Morrie

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

I asked my home game players to describe my DM style, and three words came up most: storyteller, adaptable, and engaging. I build stories around their choices, embrace the chaos, and offer ways forward while always leaving the decisions in their hands.

How Rgee Bautista runs games

Expect a game where creativity, roleplay, and player choices matter. I love taking prewritten adventures and building on them to make the story feel personal to the characters at the table. I enjoy weaving character backstories, personalities, and goals into the campaign, whether that means introducing a new NPC, adding an unexpected twist, or creating connections that weren’t in the original adventure. My goal is to give each character moments where they feel like they truly belong in the story. I also love the fun and unpredictable side of D&D. Expect silly NPCs, ridiculous situations, unexpected player ideas, and moments that can have the whole table laughing. But I also enjoy creating scenes with real emotion and purpose. I want your character to have a reason to be on the adventure, not just a quest marker telling them where to go. My philosophy is simple: in D&D, anything is possible. It’s just a matter of the roll of the dice. And the dice work both ways. Creative solutions are encouraged, but choices have consequences, and failure can create just as interesting a story as success. Above all, I want my games to feel like adventures. A place where you can get into character, make unexpected choices, laugh at ridiculous situations, and occasionally surprise yourself with just how far the story can go.

I deal with rules issues by...

I'll quickly check the rules first. If there's still ambiguity, I'll make the final call as DM, aiming to honor the spirit of the rules while staying flexible. Rules are a guide, not a cage, and I'm happy to bend them when it makes the game more fun.

I prep by

I review the campaign's key points and mark the important checkpoints for each session. This helps me keep the story on track while leaving plenty of room for unexpected choices, creative ideas, and whatever chaos my players bring!

When it comes to voices

I do my best to give each NPC a unique voice that fits their character. The voices might change throughout the campaign or even mid-session, but it's part of the fun! It keeps things immersive and helps distinguish who's speaking.

Rgee Bautista's ideal table

My ideal table is one where everyone can have fun, whether you're a min-maxer, roleplayer, strategist, rules lawyer, or the player with the wonderfully weird character. There's room for every playstyle, as long as we respect each other and make sure everyone gets to enjoy the adventure.

I am for a vibe that's...

I'm for a vibe that's welcoming, creative, and full of possibilities. Laugh when it's funny, let serious moments sink in, and embrace the chaos when plans go sideways! Work together, respect each other, have fun, and remember: when all else fails, the DM makes the final call.

I love it when a player

I love it when players get creative and tell me what they want to do without worrying too much about the rules. I'll find a way to make it work, even if it's just flavor. It's your character, your choice! Just remember, choices come with rewards and consequences.

My table is not the place for...

My table is a place for everyone to have fun, feel respected, and be themselves. There is no room for hate, disrespect, or one person dominating everyone else's experience. We're here to enjoy the game together, not control how others play.
