About me

Hi! I'm Dan, and I've been playing and running TTRPG's since the time I first learned to read from my dad's original Red Box D&D, and haven't really slowed down since. While I love a good dungeon crawl and my gratitude to D&D knows no bounds, my passion lies in newer and indie game experiences- and I'd absolutely love to run a game for you that showcases both the depth and history of my lifelong love of TTRPG's, while trying out and exploring some of the newer and wilder systems, settings, and games that have come out over the past decades. I've also been part of a long-running and 2018 ENnie Nominated TTRPG Actual Play podcast, Fandible.com, where you can find dozens of hours of audio of me running games like Gun & Slinger, The God Machine Chronicles, and Changeling: the Dreaming. I love running long and character-focused campaigns, where the character's backstories and the player's wishes serve to inform and shape the story in meaningful ways- but I'm also always down for a good and fun one-shot game, with or without pregen characters, in many systems. When it comes to one-shot games, I encourage the philosophy of "play it like you stole it"- if this is going to be the only story we get to create together, let's make it a memorable one! My games feature evocative description, acted out NPC's with distinct voices and mannerisms, and whenever possible, additional resources, images, and music. Whether you're looking to sail across the Wildsea, escape into the Actuality under the light of the Invisible Sun, reshape reality as a Mage, or escape it outright as a Changeling, I'm eager to explore all those worlds with all kinds of players! My games are always: LGBTQIA+ friendly and welcoming. I'm a strong believer and advocate for TTRPG Safety Tools, and employ them as needed in all my games.

GM Style

I absolutely love role-play as the main focus of the game- but that doesn't mean I don't get the excitement of a dice roll at a critical time and the tension and options that crunchy game mechanics can bring. My games are rarely combat-heavy, encouraging characters that are interesting and fun to play in and out of combat. Above all, my job as a GM in whatever game or system I'm running, is to find ways to let my player's stories shine, give them the threads and let them find their ways into weaving them into a tapestry wholly their own.

I’ve had the pleasure of playing in several of Dan’s games, and each one has been a remarkable experience. When I first joined his Changeling campaign, I was skeptical. I’d never been able to get into Changeling before, and the concept of playing a young adult character didn’t initially appeal to me. But I’d heard great things about Dan as both a GM and player—how respectful and skilled he was—so I decided to give it a try. And wow, am I glad I did! Not only did Dan make me appreciate the Changeling system in a way I never had before, but he also brought his setting to life in such a compelling way that I was hooked from start to finish. Unlike some GMs who rely on goofy accents for NPCs, Dan used subtle changes in tone and genuine emotion to distinguish his characters, making every interaction feel authentic and engaging. Dan also implemented a Session Zero, where we set our boundaries and discussed expectations for the game. He respected and enforced those boundaries in a firm yet considerate manner, never getting frustrated when someone accidentally came close to crossing a line. Instead, he gently redirected the conversation and encouraged us to work together, creating a safe space where we could tell a truly beautiful and inspiring story.

Dan is a fantastic GM who breath life into the characters you meet. Whether that was the BBEG or the the poor villager hiding from the monsters. I would recommend him to anyone who wants an awesome RP experience.

Dan is an incredibly creative, helpful, and thoughtful GM. He's hooked me on systems or settings I never thought I would go for, and helped tailor characters to my strengths to help me feel comfortable. He's very collaborative, and aims to make a fun and interesting story for the people around the table, rather than sticking strictly to his original plans.

Dan is an amazing Dm and storyteller who I have also had the pleasure of being in a game with both as players. If you're looking to have a fun time in a fun world where you'll be allowed to do cool things over rules things, Dan is the right one for the job. Highly recommend to anyone looking to jump into a Dm's crazy conjuration, knowing they have nothing to worry about as long as they come from the angle of fun first.

Played in a game of the DIE Rpg ran by Dan and it was great! He was very newbiefriendly, and showed a clear love for the game and running for players. Genuinely one of the best GMs ive played with
