About me
Hi! I'm Dan, and I've been playing and running TTRPG's since the time I first learned to read from my dad's original Red Box D&D, and haven't really slowed down since. While I love a good dungeon crawl and my gratitude to D&D knows no bounds, my passion lies in newer and indie game experiences- and I'd absolutely love to run a game for you that showcases both the depth and history of my lifelong love of TTRPG's, while trying out and exploring some of the newer and wilder systems, settings, and games that have come out over the past decades. I've also been part of a long-running and 2018 ENnie Nominated TTRPG Actual Play podcast, Fandible.com, where you can find dozens of hours of audio of me running games like Gun & Slinger, The God Machine Chronicles, and Changeling: the Dreaming. I love running long and character-focused campaigns, where the character's backstories and the player's wishes serve to inform and shape the story in meaningful ways- but I'm also always down for a good and fun one-shot game, with or without pregen characters, in many systems. When it comes to one-shot games, I encourage the philosophy of "play it like you stole it"- if this is going to be the only story we get to create together, let's make it a memorable one! My games feature evocative description, acted out NPC's with distinct voices and mannerisms, and whenever possible, additional resources, images, and music. Whether you're looking to sail across the Wildsea, escape into the Actuality under the light of the Invisible Sun, reshape reality as a Mage, or escape it outright as a Changeling, I'm eager to explore all those worlds with all kinds of players! My games are always: LGBTQIA+ friendly and welcoming. I'm a strong believer and advocate for TTRPG Safety Tools, and employ them as needed in all my games.
GM Style
I absolutely love role-play as the main focus of the game- but that doesn't mean I don't get the excitement of a dice roll at a critical time and the tension and options that crunchy game mechanics can bring. My games are rarely combat-heavy, encouraging characters that are interesting and fun to play in and out of combat. Above all, my job as a GM in whatever game or system I'm running, is to find ways to let my player's stories shine, give them the threads and let them find their ways into weaving them into a tapestry wholly their own.
