About Anton Wich

Like many others, my background is pretty homebrew. I started out my early levels in the Faroe Islands, a mixture of landmass and bad weather that is located in the north-atlantic, where not a lot of people played DnD at the time. When my uncle came visiting he wanted me to try out a DnD game and down the rabbit-hole I went. 15 years later, I have played through three editions of DnD, hosted campaigns and projects for all age groups and even taught at a school specializing in using simulation games and roleplaying games as tools for teaching. My love and passion for the game mostly stems out from my unquenchable desire to craft stories, so my games tend to be in worlds I have created myself. My profession as a storyteller and multimediadesigner has brought me a big toolbox of item-creation, maps, narrative and immersion and I prefer to make settings where choices are aplenty, in contrast to more linear plots for players to soldier through.

How Anton Wich runs games

As a DM, I like to focus on the narrative, with my players being the driving force of that narrative. I like to work with the player in order to have their background naturally play a part in the bigger plot, so that the character can be engaged into the story in an organic manner. I like to act out my NPCs and tend to let the social aspects of the game define the possibility of combat encounters, to provide players with choices and the freedom to shape the game. However I do not shy away from making combat encounters difficult and aim to have challenges that are dangerous, but not constantly lethal. As a result of a homebrewed world, I also like to make my own additions to the typical monsters and creatures, as well as boons that might come your way. In my prep time, I invest into creating my own world map, battlemaps and magical items to give players a sense of ownership in the campaign they help define. It is my desire to provide a memorable adventure filled with fun, tension, roleplaying and dice rolling. I like to adhere to the rules as written, with the appropriate exception. I prefer to have my table focused on a cooperative story and have players act together as allies and friends, instead of scheming and plotting behind each others backs. I encourage tension in the storyline and the ability for players to be at odds with one another in their choices, but wish for a framework where character conflict doesn't define every session. I do not play murderhobo campaigns either, as I spend a lot of time to craft the world and narrative. I welcome new players to my table and have a strong experience in introducing people to the game, but I have played the game long enough to make it interesting to the veterans of the systems I play. I encourage those that would join to have an open mind in helping new players gain their bearings, as well as new players allowing more seasoned players to help out if needed.
