About Tupinikim

Hey, I’m Mike. I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons since I was 9 years old. I grew up in Brazil in the 1980s, when finding other kids willing to play D&D was not easy at all. For about two years, I played alone. Eventually I convinced a few friends to try a session with me. After that first game, they came back, and they brought other friends with them. I’ve been a Dungeon Master ever since, for over 35 years now. More recently, I partnered with some friends to create Tupinikim Studio. Our goal is simple: to deliver memorable D&D experiences, both online and in person. We are a small group of professionals who share a deep love for the game. A fantasy cartographer creates custom maps. A sound engineer builds music and soundscapes tailored to each scene. A graphic designer adds visual elements that bring moments to life. And I take the role of Dungeon Master, weaving everything together into a living campaign. At the table, the focus is on story, character, and immersion. The tools and visuals are there to support the experience, not overshadow it. What matters most is creating a space where players feel invested, challenged, and excited to come back for the next session.

How Tupinikim runs games

My GM style is focused on story, immersion, and player choice. I enjoy roleplay and character-driven scenes, using distinct NPC personalities and voices when it adds clarity or flavor, not as a performance gimmick. Combat is meaningful and tactical, but always in service of the narrative rather than a numbers exercise. I aim for a balanced table where roleplay, exploration, and combat all matter, and where player decisions have real, lasting consequences in the world.

Rules are the foundation that let us tell stories together with consistency, fairness, and creativity.

Tupinikim's ideal table

The table is welcoming, focused, and collaborative. It works best for players who enjoy engaging with the story, respecting other players’ spotlight moments, and taking the game seriously without taking themselves too seriously. The general vibe is relaxed but attentive, with room for humor, emotional moments, and thoughtful decision-making. New and experienced players alike do well here as long as they are curious, communicative, and interested in building something memorable together over time.

I love it when a player

Remembers the NPC’s name I made up on the spot three sessions ago and treats them like the main character.
