About Rebecca

I fell in love with TTRPGS when I was 12. I knew absolutely nothing when I sat down to my first game, and truthfully, neither did our GM, but a fight with some goblins, a few dice rolls, and a lot of laughs later, I was hooked. I’ve spent many hours since trawling over books, making maps, statting monsters, collecting the marvellous math rocks, and creating treasures that could excite and entice my players. My games are usually player focussed, giving my players a platform to be a hero or a villain. I love creating a game where everyone gets a chance to be in the spotlight, and can share their highs and lows with their party members. I try to find a balance between roleplay and combat, where the decisions of the players have very real impacts on the setting they are in. From the kobold beggar they help on the way to market, to the gold coins they pick pocketed at the tavern the night before, who knows what small acts can sway the landscape? I strive to create immersive and memorable experiences where everyone can express themselves, and feel at home at my table.

How Rebecca runs games

While I try to tailor my games as best I can to my group needs, there are some trademarks and inspirations I draw from that I feel makes my gaming style inexplicably mine. I love every opportunity to role play. Combat dazzles me, but roleplay has something intrinsically human to it. I want to see my players let the worries of the real world melt away while they become Garuk the Orc Cleric, or Albert the Vulpin Artificer with his mechanical bear. My games come also with a healthy dose of satire, and questions on the world around the pc’s. I really strive to make a game that lets people think through their fun and enjoyment. Puzzles, grand quests, and a mystery around every corner are the bread and butter of the worlds I build. And unique treasures, of course, no good adventuring party would be worth their salt without treasure to look forward to.

Rebecca's ideal table

If you like roleplay and puzzles, intrigue and espionage, and maybe a murder mystery or two, this might be the table for you! I try to promote a communicative table where everyone can carve a path for their character, and shine together. This takes effort from everyone though, where we all accommodate each other, and work together to respect each other. I enjoy creating combat that surprises and challenges my players to think outside the box in how they approach things. I find the most rewarding games are the ones where both player and GM challenge the other and their way of thinking within the game. There are a few ground rules for at the table, just to keep everything running smoothly: 1. Treat everyone in the game (both other players and GM) with respect. 2. No real world issues at the table. Politics, religion, current affairs, please keep them off the table. 3. No NSFW content at the table. 4. Please review the lines and veils document issued before each game, so that everyone can play safely and comfortably. 5. If something arises in game that you are not comfortable with, please message me immediately to let me know, so that I can address it and keep the game a safe space. 6. No unannounced dice rolls. Please check what roll is needed and get confirmation if it is appropriate before going ahead with the roll. Eg. "I would like to find out what kind of creatures are native to the area I'm in, what should I roll?" "Please make a nature check" This keeps things moving smoothly and also allows others to assist where possible. 7. All player rolls must be open rolls which can be witnessed by player and GM.
