About Patrick “Leon Jenkins” Mooney
I still remember sitting in a library reading a book while I heard the sounds of dice being rolled, I saw a table nearby and they were playing D&D 3rd edition. I remembered playing a couple of sessions of 2e with some friends, but it was so complicated, I asked about the game and before I knew it I had a character and was playing D&D, that was almost 30 years ago now. Then when the party needed a new DM I threw my hat into the ring, I started creating a world that I would continue to use with other groups as time went on. Then the pandemic happened, but my love for D&D remained, I started playing using MRPG and over time recreated my world once again. I learned to use Inkarnate, Roll 20, and D&D beyond as well as discord dropping play by post games for Discord voice chat rooms. I have been playing D&D now for as long as I can remember, I host games for upwards of 20 players off and on again in various games like Marvel 616, Avatar Legends as well as playing in games like Bunkers and bad asses, Fallout and more, but my true love is D&D. So now I am a professional content creator for Facebook and share my hobbies on YouTube as well helping me to shrink the world and interact with more and more people all the time. I feel like I am taking the next step, from taking my Hobbie and turning it into a career.

I became a GM because
I became a Game Master because when our group 20+ years ago lost our GM I stepped up to the plate. In choosing to be the GM I was able to unpack short stories and daydreams into fantastic adventures for my friends and I to play. In short, fell into it and found I loved it.
My favorite books are
My favorite books are the Hour of the Dragon by Robert E. Howard and the Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. Robert E.
When I'm not running games I'm...
When I am not actively running a game session I am working on 3d printing, creating new fantasy maps on Inkarnate, writing short stories or game prep, streaming video games, painting terrain or miniatures, collecting comics, or playing in other TTRPG's.
How Patrick “Leon Jenkins” Mooney runs games
My game master style follows the 3 d's of D&D, Dialogue, Discovery & Danger. I call for player feedback when doing recaps on sessions, I do this to help get everyone involved and also see what stood out for them each session. I will follow a basic story telling process with a beginning middle and end, I use Joseph Campbell’s Hero with a Thousand Faces story arc to do this. My "style" is kind of basic in my opinion, I will initiate role play with various NPC's to try to engage the players, I also provide a story arch based on checkpoints reached in the game, but the main story is always what the players are doing. In the end a liner world that is affected by player motivations. open world exploration mixed with liner events while allowing the story to evolve based on the players interactions, so if they want a political, a smash and grab, a typical dungeon crawl or even managing a tavern or other company entity, or maybe they want a little of everything... whatever the case, I will evolve the game based on what they are doing.

I prep by crafting each session with a beginning middle and end in mind, I like to structure each session like the acts of a play. I use the concept of "the hero with a thousand faces" to help me achieve that.

My games focus on the 3D's of D&D: Discovery- Traveling to new places and discovering new lore Dialogue- Helping or hindering the people of the world through social interactions Danger- Danger can come in many forms, not all encounters must end in violence, but sometimes violence can't be avoided
Rules are...
Rules are a guideline; they are not set in stone as they cannot cover every instance, all table rules will be discussed before the start of an adventure.
Patrick “Leon Jenkins” Mooney's ideal table
My ideal table is a group of players that respect each other and don't talk over each other, and genuinely kind to each other.

I love it when a player
I love when a player talks to other players in character, it can be difficult sometimes for players to become emersed in the game, I think that this is a sign that they are.
I think it's a red flag when players...
I think it is a red flag when players don't know what is going on in combat or otherwise. When players are lost it is a sign that I am not being engaging enough, the game is the wrong fit, or that the players are simply distracted or some other issue.
