About Jennifer
I started out playing with friends in high school, passing notebooks back and forth between classes, in what would later be called play by post. With one friend it was 2nd edition AD&D, with another it was Werewolf the Apocalypse. Then I was introduced to LARP, where I helped write the rules and was 100% responsible for writing the storyline and running the games for a home-brew crafted LARP camping event. After that, I met the friends I would game with for 25 years or more. I ran games consistently, from 3.0 D&D, to X-Crawl, to Pathfinder, Legend of the 5 Rings. I still run and play games every week, and have only gotten more engaged as ttrpgs continue to evolve and have built two different worlds that can be used in any d20 system. As far as my GMing style goes, it depends on my players. I can go rules and combat light for kids, or new players or people that are more into the roleplaying instead of roll playing. I like for everyone to have fun and be fulfilled at the end of the session, and to want to come back for more. There are times where I will let the dice intervene like fate and am known for random mischief. I can be silly, I can be serious. If I don't know it, I'm happy to learn it. For me, GMing is an act of service and love. A gift of joy and togetherness I can give my fellow man.

How Jennifer runs games
I tend to focus on the characters and story, but I do love to challenge my players. Creative puzzles, monsters that are tactical in battle, high stakes and low stakes missions. I do like to be silly, and there is almost always a bit of carefully curated chaos that makes its way into my games. I'm not afraid of plunging players into serious situations with dangerous threats, and character deaths happen on occasion. I am not on the lookout for a TPK, though.

I prep by
listening to music, vibing with my doggo, and setting up coffee and snacks.
My games focus on...
the story and the characters first. We are all looking for fun and escape!
Rules are...
are great but aren't always the most important thing in a scene.
Jennifer's ideal table
I enjoy a table that is willing to be a little wild and think outside of the box. IC arguments happen, even some fighting but everything is for the story and enjoyment of the players and myself. I always encourage players to do things "for the plot!". I am chill, no pvp, just like to have a good time, and aim to make my players feel safe, supported and heard.
Featured Prompts
I am for a vibe that's...
very relaxed for the most part. There are moments of drama, feels, a full range of emotions! Rule of Cool all the way, whenever possible.
I think it's a red flag when players...
start needless fights that the rest of the party doesn't agree with. Start fights or argue over everything. Disrespect others.
My table is not the place for...
metagaming or min/maxing. Yeah, stats are a great baseline, but they are not the most important thing at my table. Metagaming ruins immersion, and isn't allowed, though there are always exceptions.
