About Bryan Barajas | ThePaintedKnight
Hello there! My name’s Bryan. I'm a total nerd for storytelling, character creation, and High RP Fantasy settings! For years, I’ve sat on the players’ side of the table, but the moment I performed an Acrobatics check to flip onto the DM’s side… everything changed 🤯

How Bryan Barajas | ThePaintedKnight runs games
I love the full D&D experience, but roleplay is where my games really shine. I like creating a world that feels alive, with memorable NPCs, character-driven stories, difficult choices, and plenty of room for players to take the story in unexpected directions. Your character’s backstory and personality matter, and I’ll look for ways to weave them into the larger campaign. That said, combat is still important. Expect encounters that can be challenging and occasionally high-stakes, with enemies that fight intelligently and situations where your choices matter. I enjoy a good tactical battle, but I don’t want combat to feel like a series of numbers on a grid. My games tend to balance serious, dramatic moments with absurd humor. I want you to get invested in the story, care about the characters, and then immediately be willing to make a terrible decision because it would be really fucking funny. Most importantly, I run a collaborative table. I’m here to build a story with the players, not railroad you through one I’ve already written. If you want to pursue something, I’ll do my best to make the world respond to it. Your decisions have consequences, your successes matter, and sometimes the dice will absolutely ruin everything. If you enjoy roleplay, character development, exploration, meaningful choices, cinematic moments, dangerous encounters, and a healthy amount of chaos, you’ll probably have a great time at my table.

I prep by
Acknowledging that the players will derail my prep, and I'll need to just improvise
Rules are...
Great as guidelines, but they should never stop the players from having fun
When it comes to voices
I will try my absolute best…. But I apologize in advance if my English accent suddenly becomes Irish.
Bryan Barajas | ThePaintedKnight's ideal table
My ideal table enjoys a great deal of roleplay and storytelling but certainly know how to throw down during combat. The players are kind and considerate of their companions, and they understand that at the end of the day, D&D is just a game.

I love it when a player
Gets so into character that when they're done with their roleplaying moment, they have to check back in with their party to clarify that they were just acting
I think it's a red flag when players...
Constantly interrupt their fellow players to try and take over the spotlight
My table is not the place for...
Any level of disrespect toward another player or myself to be masked under the guise of roleplay or a toxic character. "It's what my character would do/say" is not a valid excuse.
