About Briguy

I have been a Dungeon Master since 2019, during covid I was both a participant and a GM consistently going on 5 to 7 games a week. Right now I average 2 hrs and 30 minutes for modules and homebrew games during the weekends. If I can support the hobby I may host more games to let more people have a chance to play. Everyone deserves to play great sessions of DND.

I became a GM because

sometimes my mind works too fast and I needed a way to be flashy and showy while also having fun with the people at my table. being a player is great too. I just think pretty fast

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

funny, into the story, imaginative

When I'm not running games I'm...

doing career field research, watching self improvement clips, reading a book, and watching what is happening in the world. when its time to prep all hands and eyes in the dnd books

How Briguy runs games

I do basic homebrew style games and modules. working on character voices, great with NPCs, Actions have consequences some immediate some later down the line. battle is a must as well as great storytelling colaboration.

I once ran a session...

I once ran a session based on the candyland board game, it was great to see my players battle gingerbread men that would slow you down once they were eaten

I prep by

Reading the books and modules that I am running, if its homebrew I write out the characters and their roles with limited lore. then with battle the basic battle simulation maps and regular maps. if off script I watch comedy and other shows to keep my levels of improv up there

Rules are...

Stat rule I made when creating a character Basic roll 4d6 for stats with custom rule being: ALWAYS reroll the ones until they aren't ones and then drop the lowest

Briguy's ideal table

I enjoy an in person table though online tables are the main go to. it costs too much for battle maps when I can just create one and post it on Roll20 or screen share with discord. the number of players I can manage fine is up to 5 people, anymore then that I get laggy

I love it when a player

knows what they want, loves being flashy and narrative with their actions, can improvise on a dime if the dice roll does not support their plan. has their tech issues handled before the session, has their character figured out. when beginning i love a player who is teachable

I think metagaming...

is fine as long as it doesnt interfere with a characters knowledge. keep player knowledge and character knowledge secret. *whispers the characters aren't supposed to know we exist and know everything*

I think min/maxing...

I'm not too big into min maxing I play dnd more for the story. if you min max on my table more then likely you will defeat my enemies for your characters easier i just do the basic buffs with items or random things rather than create power stats
