About Tedious

I've loved playing RPGs and reading fantasy since I was a child, I have always had an interest in TTRPGs and took the plunge a few years ago with D&D 5E. Quickly, I decided that I'd love to begin GMing. Now I run 3 weekly games, and have for almost 2 years.

I became a GM because

I became a GM because it gives me a creative outlet. Storyboarding events, writing, and planning are the ways I express my creativity. Hearing and seeing moments my players enjoy themselves also brings me great joy.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Creative, Funny, and Caring

When I'm not running games I'm...

Playing TTRPGs or other games, hanging out with my wife, or getting some sun

How Tedious runs games

I love crafting stories, building worlds, and creating meaningful character moments through joint efforts of player and GM. The moment players and GMs come together is a goal of mine through my style.

I deal with rules issues by...

Hearing the player out and coming to a conclusion that is made temporarily to keep the flow up. After the session, I do research, then bring up whether my ruling stayed the same or was overturned.

My games focus on...

Roleplay, world building, and making the table a place where everyone can enjoy the session. In terms of combat, rules are an important skeleton, but 'the rule of cool' and fun within reason are also important aspects.

When it comes to voices

I like to give characters players will interact with more than once unique and memorable voices and ticks.

Tedious's ideal table

I believe players who enjoy heavy RP sessions with investment into characters will enjoy the table. Light-hearted fun and a subtle soft tug at the heartstrings occasionally.

Featured Prompts

I think it's a red flag when players...

players are aggressive towards each other in tone over in game activities.

I think metagaming...

Is a big issue, especially if it causes players to lose interest in the adventure or trivializes encounters/moments for players who haven't experienced them yet.

My perfect party mix is

A group of invested and unique/diverse players who roleplay with each other and my NPCs to create an adventure together.
