About Susann
New to TTRPGs or just new to Nimble? You're in the right place. I'm Susann, a GM who loves making new players feel confident, capable, and excited to come back for more. I run D&D 5e (2024) and Nimble regularly, and I'm genuinely happy to help you figure out which suits you best. Nimble in particular is a fast, tactical system that gets you straight to the good stuff: meaningful choices, snappy combat, and characters who feel powerful from session one. While I love a good plot twist as much as anyone, my true joy comes from facilitating stories rather than writing them. My goal is simple: portray a world that reacts to your choices, celebrates your chaos, and gives your characters the adventures they deserve. You might have the pleasure of seeing one of my pets in the background of my webcam (yes, I like to play with video on). I have two cats - who both only have one eye.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Nimble, DnD 5.5e and something PbtA
People are always surprised when I tell them
that I grew up in Germany. I have been living in Ireland for so long now that the Irish accent is more prevalent than the German.
When I'm not running games I'm...
powerlifting in my home gym, messing with my 3D printer or painting minis.
How Susann runs games
At my table, you define how you want to play. Whether you’re here for emotional character arcs, dramatic dice moments, combat glory, starting at higher levels, rolling in magic items or shenanigans that will go down in party legend - I’m here to support it and I want to see it play out. I craft worlds that respond to your decisions for better, worse, or “oh no what have we done.” I’m not a voice actor (unless you count “slightly different voice but with loads of confidence”), but I love creating NPCs for you to interrogate, befriend, annoy, or accidentally adopt. I also enjoy running high-impact combat encounters, especially when they make narrative sense and the table is excited to get their weapons bloody and spell slots used up. If you’re looking for a DM who’s enthusiastic, collaborative, and ready to cheer on your brilliant (and occasionally hopefully disastrous) ideas, I’d love to welcome you to one of my games!

I deal with rules issues by...
asking the group, making a call and moving on. We can look up rules in details after the game so I know better for next time, but let's not waste precious time during the game. We have a story to tell first and foremost.
I prep by
Reviewing the characters first. You are the stars of the show and I am your biggest fan.
Rules are...
there for a reason, but first and foremost the rules should support the story we are telling, not hinder it. I like to run rules as written unless there are some circumstances that make me want to change them.
Susann's ideal table
I like to run a fun and chill table. I have my webcam on at all times and ask my players to do the same when they can. It lets us all have a better game because we can pick up on each other's non-verbal cues. We all come together to tell a story, where everyone's character contributes in their own way. I record the audio of my games for transcriptions and note-taking.

I love it when a player
cares about the world and their fellow party members.
I think min/maxing...
perfectly fine. Your PC your choices.
My table is not the place for...
murder hobos and evil characters. Running games like that is not one of my strengths. My table thrives on heroes who care about the world and each other.
