About Starwood Adventures (Oscar)
I’ve walked the realms since the days of first edition, back in the misty age of the 80s—but that’s not the tale you’ve come to hear, is it? What you truly seek is the experience. Take a seat by the fire and lend me your ear, for I see the same restless spark in your eyes that lit mine all those years ago. If you’ve ever lost yourself in the pages of a fantasy tome, or watched heroes clash steel beneath storm-dark skies, then you already know the call. That deep, undeniable yearning to step into the story—not just read it. To feel the weight of a sword in your hand, or trace your fingers over the brittle vellum of an ancient spellbook. To behold mountains that scrape the heavens, and to ride snarling beasts through emerald forests older than time. Yes... I know that call well. No more waiting. The winds of Faerûn stir once more, and destiny is calling your name. Let's go...

I became a GM because
As I have grown older, I lost touch with what it was like to be creative again. Resuming the GM path recently has made me realize what is important to me. There are important needs to tell stories and to participate in something that lifts us spirtually. This is my path in the world.
I got started GMing...
In 1981 the age of 11 with 1e D&D. Got hooked which led to other TTG's like Top Secret, Star Frontiers, Marvel Super Heroes, Gamma World, everything made by Steve Jackson, Paranoia, Villians & Vigilantes and the list went on.
My favorite books are
The Dragonlance series had a profound impact on me, but it was Nuromancer, by William Gibson, that changed my life and inspired me toward a career path. Watership Down was the first novel I ever picked up was the first time I felt the need for a story to not end.
How Starwood Adventures (Oscar) runs games
A balance between story and tactics, but the emphasis is always on story and making players feel that cinematic edge when they are at my table.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, with a bit of Denis Villeneuve and Steven Soderbergh thrown in for good measure.
My games focus on...
Story telling is at the heart of every adventure I run and it is my primary goal to make the players believe that are a part of one, regardless if it is a one-shot or campaign. I enjoy working with players to ensure they feel like their character is a part of the world they are in.
Rules are...
Intention: 1) Provide balance to the game overall to ensure challanges and choices have rewards and concequences. 2) Allow players feel they are progressing to something and are growing. Not inteded: 1) to be obsessed over and married to, especially if it gets in the way of fun.

I love it when a player
Develops an interesting background for their characters and wants to explore it during a campaign.
I think it's a red flag when players...
Nit pick over every inch of of the rule book. They see the GM as the challange they are facing. The GM is your vessel, not your apponent. The world you are in speaks through me FOR you.
