About Dominic
Hello to all the adventurers out there! I’m Dominic, and I’d be honored to share my stories with you. My story begins in a cluttered living room, surrounded by Terry Pratchett novels and Lord of the Rings posters. It's my friend's living room, and I sit as his table, playing my very first game of Pathfinder. Thus, the door to the world of TTRPGs opened before me. After playing in a few games with some more friends, I started running them myself. It started with humble beginnings, hosting games over Discord, streaming my ridiculously-made maps on Google Draw. Then we discovered some places to run in person, and shortly after, I found Roll20, then D&DBeyond. We ran several games privately, before I started broadening my horizons. I've participated in public Westmarche-style roleplay servers, even going so far as to create one with like-minded associates. I've hosted events in my area where GMs can come together and invite new players to their favorite system, and players get an opportunity to discover the worlds we eagerly wish to share. Even now, I'm still discovering new systems and styles to adopt and add to my arsenal of story-writing and roleplaying. All this to say: It has taken me a long time to get here, to this, to you. Seven years, to be specific. For the last seven years, my goal as a game master has been, and will always be, to create a fun, inviting, and rich game for any and all players at my table. Whether you've never rolled a d20 before, or played at the table with Gary Gygax, I strive to make every session memorable, and every story legendary. Though my focus is on 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons and its related content, I do have experience running Call of Cthulhu, Avatar Legends, Cypher System, and other equally exciting titles, and I’m always looking to find the next one. I have run on several platforms, including the aforementioned Roll20, though I do prefer Owlbear Rodeo for maps and grids. I am no stranger to theater of the mind, however, and should the time for roleplay arise, you will find unparalleled levels of imagery, immersion, and imagination. At the end of the day- or the end of the game- I want to leave you with images of our stories, like your favorite scene in a movie, or your favorite page in a book. There is, however, a major difference between the books we grew up with and the tales we tell at our table. Anyone can read a book or watch a movie and plunge themselves into lore hidden between its scenes and pages, but there is a different connection and emotion born when you are the writer of your own story. When your choices, and your actions, mold the world you’ve put yourself in. It is my responsibility and my pleasure as a game master to pull the unique spark of ingenuity that lies within us all, draw it out, and give my players the opportunity to tell a tale of their own. A collective tale of anything and everything. I hope to see you at the table soon! “The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.” - J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

How Dominic runs games
In every game I run, I attempt to fill it with a mix of everything for everyone: combat, roleplay, investigation, and treasure. In my opinion, these are the fundamental aspects of adventure, and being an advocate of fantasy as a genre, I will emulate that to the best of my ability. Roleplay is important for not just to me, but for character development. It adds a layer of realism and empathy to what are otherwise speaking figments of our imagination. It allows us to delve into the motives, habits, and identity of the individuals we create, and in doing so, greatly benefits the verisimilitude of the world. Sometimes, the conversations we have as characters can be tougher than the fights we get into. Despite that, I try my hardest to keep games comfortable, and though some topics may be difficult to discuss, I will never force my players to endure a topic that takes the fun from the game. Combat in my games can range from flavorful, cheeky bouts that merely add some uniqueness to the story, to dangerous, high-intensity battles that test your abilities to tactically best the smartest or hardest baddies. Either way, prepare yourselves, as I am merciful as much as I am ruthless. However, for those seeking a story of intrigue and mystery, or seeking a world full of history and lore, I thrive just as much in writing the story as I do writing the world its in. After all, the world didn't appear overnight, and not every plot is laid bare. Ask questions, be curious, and you will be rewarded. Bottom line: Have fun, be smart, be true to character, and everyone will have a fantastic time.
