About Neal

Hi, I’m Neal, a GM who thrives on collaborative, player-driven narratives. I’ve been playing TTRPGs for years and running games across multiple systems, and I'm a big believer that the best stories are the ones we create together.

I became a GM because

I loved playing, and I wanted to tell more stories. I really enjoy the facilitation and worldbuilding that comes with GMing, and it's given me a creative license that I don't have in my "real life".

My favorite system of all Time is

I mean, it's D&D. It's the most popular for a reason - it's classic. But I chafe against too many rules and restrictions, so I do a heavy amount of customization and homebrewing. I do love other systems for what they are, but I feel like campaigns thrive in D&D more than any other system.

When I'm not running games I'm...

working, sadly. Aren't we all?

How Neal runs games

I run a lot of homebrew content because I love crafting living worlds where player choices truly matter. Your character’s backstory isn’t just flavor: it’s woven into the world, shaping the challenges you face and the allies (or enemies) you make. Whether it’s unraveling dark mysteries, leading a revolution, or surviving in a world that wants you dead, my games are designed for players who love depth, immersion, and meaningful choices. At my table (or in my play-by-posts), you can expect rich roleplay, dynamic consequences, and NPCs who feel just as real as your characters. I place a laser focus on player agency: you aren’t following a plot; you’re building it. Every decision you make leaves a mark, and every risk has real stakes. If you’re looking for a game where your character’s story matters, where the world reacts to your choices, and where tension, intrigue, and excitement are always around the corner, then let’s tell an unforgettable story together.

I deal with rules issues by...

arbitrating. I make a decision about what makes sense in the world - which is informed by the rules, but also by the story, the players, and the world itself. I'm not a rules lawyer, more often than not I go with what feels right.

Rules are...

an excellent framework.
