About Xristos Smeros
I've been a Game Master since 2018, exploring a wide range of systems including Warhammer Fantasy, 40k, and Star Wars 5. My passion for tabletop gaming has taken me across the globe—I’ve run games at Spiel in Germany (2021), joined Dragon Legion’s DM bootcamp in Iceland (2019), and was a featured DM at AthensCon in Greece (2024). Beyond running games, I’ve taught aspiring DMs how to find their voice, embrace improvisation, and build sessions that deliver both fun and meaning. I’ve also performed in live TTRPG shows with improvisational and themed storytelling. I run both published adventures and original campaigns set in my homebrew worlds—most notably an underwater fantasy setting. Over the last few years, I’ve specialized in short campaigns (5–10 sessions), similar in style to Dimension 20.e

How Xristos Smeros runs games
My DMing style swings between two distinct tones: Dark and Grim: Heavy choices, moral dilemmas, and deep character relationships. Comedic and Wholesome: Lighthearted fun, jokes, quirky characters, and heartfelt scenes. Whether you're seeking a dark journey through despair or a joyful tale full of laughs, I’ll tailor the game to your group’s energy. That said, I’m highly adaptable. These are just my go-to styles—but the tone always depends on what your group wants. Whether you’re after high drama, chaotic fun, or something in between, I shape the experience around the players at the table.
Xristos Smeros's ideal table
My table is story-driven with meaningful encounters. Every session includes at least one combat or challenge, but roleplay is the main focus. The tone blends serious, dark, and dramatic moments with occasional light humor to keep things engaging. Player freedom: Guided story arcs with freedom to make meaningful choices. Your actions matter, and the world reacts to them. Difficulty & rules: Encounters are fair but challenging. I run the game with rules-as-intended flexibility—creative solutions are encouraged, but I expect players to stay in the story. Who fits well at my table: Mixed experience levels are welcome. Players who respect each other, engage with the story, enjoy roleplay, and work with the group will thrive. Hard no / dealbreakers: Disrespect toward other players

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
If you enjoy Critical Role or Dimension 20, my style will feel familiar—but with a stronger focus on player agency and consequences. Expect high-pressure decisions and challenging encounters, without any expectation to “perform” or act perfectly. This table is about immersion, not auditions.
I think metagaming...
I believe that metagaming in tabletop RPGs can be helpful; it depends on the purpose and who it is intended to help in a given situation
My table is not the place for...
My table is not the place for players who try to bypass roleplaying or treat every action as just a roll to succeed, without engaging with the story.
