About Shadowphage
I have 31 years of experience in RPGa I began running RPGs at around 13 years old (in 50's now :(::: lol ). I started with G.U.R.P.S and Villains & Vigilantes. From there I moved on to 2nd Edition D&D, Palladium Fantasy RPG, Rifts, T.M.N.T., Robotech, Ninjas & Superspies, Wildcards, Cyberpunk 2020, Heroes Unlimited, Marauder 2107 & various Marvel Comics RPG's, Vampire the Masquerade, Wraith, Mage & Werewolf the Apocalypse (I have run other games over the years that I no longer renumber the titles to). I find great joy in seeing my players having fun in the worlds I have created. I want them to feel their characters are the main characters in a novel or movie. As a DM I get to enjoy the game by seeing my players enjoying the game. That's how I know I'm doing my job as a DM. If the players arenn't having fun; no one is having fun. Outside of TTRPGs I enjoy drawing and car audio, and streaming some of my favorite games. And creating stories and scenarios while listening to music. How Shadowphage runs games
I prefer a living world. Choices the players make have larger consequences and become part of the game world's history. I desire my players to play "in character". My game has combat encounters in it but players will also be expected to interact with NPCs out of combat situations and make allies (or even enemies) based on these encounters. I enjoy having my players feel they have choices; as such I have homebrewed races from different franchises (as well as creating ones unique to my game worlds [yes, players may find themselves moving from world to world; If they so choose]). I want my players to feel they matter as champions in the story.

I once ran a session...
Where three of us DMs allowed each of our groups to bring their characters into a massive battle. The players always talked about, "My character could beat yours". So, we DMS one day were like, "Why don't we make it happen? LOL." The players finally got to answer who would win. :) About 12 of us!

Listening to music and allowing the possible player choice outcomes to flow through my imagination. Seeing different paths the story could take.
My games focus on...
The characters embodying heroes of the realm. I enjoy when my players reach Legend status through RP and heroic deeds.
Shadowphage's ideal table
I prefer players at my table have genuine love for their characters and RP them as more than pieces on a game board. Players ideally should be a "team" (but I have had groups were players didn't mind PvP). I want the players to feel they are the heroes; the main characters in a novel or movie. That the fate of the realm depends on their choices and actions.

The vibe I want in the game is focused but enjoyable. Where the game is serious but a little lightheartedness is welcome. We all want to have fun and that can be had without losing focus.
I love it when a player
Make their characters more than just a game piece. It brings me great joy to see them behaving in a realistic manner with their characters and not leaping into dire situations as if the character has no care for life. Seeing a player become attached to their character & game world is awesome!
My table is not the place for...
I prefer "real world" drama be left out of my game sessions. Everyone (no matter their "real world" personal beliefs or ideals) should be able to come together and escape reality into a realm where they all have fun and forget their differences.
