About me
Nothing's quite a satisfying as a bit of collaborative storytelling, is there? The sort off-the-wall, context-required, spurred on by knee-jerk decisions and unforeseen Nat 1s-type moments that you still laugh about with your equally nerdy friends years later. I've been running/playing some form of RPG or another since High School, and have laughed, cried, sighed, or just been remarkably confused throughout many special moments. I'm hoping to create many more in the years to come. My name is Sawyer - or Tyred if you prefer my other internet nom-de-plume - and I. Love. Stories. It's all I think about, all the time, and fortunately its also something I am blessed enough to do for a living. I am not a thespian or a dramatist: I'm a massive geek who likes hanging out and roleplaying with other massive geeks. If that sounds like your cup of tea, then let me know, so we can start a new game and make some new zany moments together. My usual weekly games go for $15 per person - all you need to do is show up, respect your fellow players, and have a blast! If you and your pals have got a game in mind that you've been itching to get off the ground, I can handle that for you too: though commissions will run you $20. These days mostly known for World of Darkness (as if the profile pic didn't make it obvious enough), but I've run a wide variety of RPGs in the past and am always up to give new systems a try.
GM Style
I'm very roleplay-focused, especially when it comes to character-based stories and interactions (big Storyteller System fan over here). That doesn't mean I expect my players to be 100% straight-faced the whole time - far from it actually. Goofing off, cracking wise, and generally learning to laugh at your inevitable bad luck is half the fun of RPGs. Doesn't mean there will never be ANY serious story beats ever - just that I'm well aware this isn't Shakespeare, nor should it be. I'm also a very anti-"bells-and-whistles": when it comes to actually playing I tend to find all you really need to have a great time is some committed players and your imagination. Doesn't mean I wont occasionally spring for artwork, relationship maps, or lore dumps (and believe me, there will always be lore), but I prefer the minimalist approach because it means less focus on presentation, more sinking your teeth into the plot.
