About Robert Beasley

I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs for over 20 years, but from the moment I first sat behind the GM screen, I knew storytelling was where my passion truly lay. I started playing because I loved the escape - stepping into new worlds, facing impossible odds, and weaving unforgettable stories with friends. But I started running games because I wanted to create those worlds myself. There’s something magical about guiding a group through an adventure where their choices shape the outcome, where every roll of the dice can turn the tide, and where character-driven storytelling takes center stage. Over the years, I’ve run a wide variety of TTRPGs: high-fantasy quests for D&D and Pathfinder, gritty sci-fi thrillers in Traveller and Starforged, horror one-shots, political intrigue, and more. I thrive on immersive storytelling, cinematic action, and player agency. I don’t just tell a story: I help YOU tell YOUR story within the world we build together. Whether it’s a deeply personal character arc, a fast-paced tactical battle, or an open-world sandbox full of mystery, my goal is to make every session feel meaningful and alive. No matter the setting or system, I love games that emphasize deep character interactions, rich worldbuilding, and unforgettable moments. Whether you’re brand new to RPGs or a seasoned veteran, I’d love to roll some dice with you, craft epic stories, and embark on an adventure together. Everybody has a story to tell. What's yours?

I got started GMing...

At 8 years old when my friends and I would run Keep on the Borderlands for the thousandth time to change things up. Maybe earlier if you count all those times we just went outside, grabbed our nerf guns and foam swords, and just used our inagination.

My favorite books are

Cosmere by Brandon Sanderson, Red Rising by Pierce Brown, and The First Law by Joe Abercrombie. There are so many hundreds of more so let's talk.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Spending time with my family and annoying them by asking them to help me run some numbers or play some games. I'm a family man and my family always comes first.

How Robert Beasley runs games

Expect a collaborative, story-rich experience with a strong emphasis on roleplay, emotional stakes, and character-driven scenes. I enjoy exploring character voices and engaging NPC interactions, and I believe in allowing players to express their backstories and personal arcs at the table. Combat? Absolutely — I prefer it *tactical but not bogged down*. Consider important, dramatic confrontations with just enough tension to make each decision matter. I strike a balance between rigid mechanics and narrative flow, and I'm not afraid to deviate from the rules for cinematic moments or awesome storytelling. I try to deliver a combination of cozy and gritty: pastel cottagecore towns under threat from angry fey, ancient sci-fi ruins buzzing with power, or found-family heroes navigating moral murky areas. Depending on the group, I can write lighthearted fantasy one-shots or grim, adult campaigns. My table is inclusive, beginner-friendly, and welcomes players of all skill levels. Consent and safety measures are essential, and I welcome neurodiverse, LGBTQ, and marginalized gamers with open arms.

I once ran a session...

I had an elaborate idea for a sci-fi campaign that I wanted to run, and I designed it all around one simple goal: blow up the planet my players were on during their first session.

My games focus on...

Cinematic roleplay meets tactile storytelling. I want you to feel the weight of the world on your shoulders. We aren't just here to tell a story. We're going to thin the veil between our real world and our new shared one.

When it comes to voices

Voice or no voice; do what makes you feel comfortable.

Robert Beasley's ideal table

My table is a welcoming, story-driven space where cinematic roleplay, character arcs, and meaningful choices take center stage. I run games that blend emotional depth with tactical tension, emphasizing collaborative storytelling and player agency. Whether you're brand new or a seasoned player, you'll find room to shine. Expect found-family vibes, a mix of heartfelt and hilarious moments, and a safe, inclusive environment where everyone’s voice matters. I love weaving character backstories into the main plot, using safety tools, and keeping the table respectful, immersive, and fun. If you're here to tell great stories and lift each other up, you'll fit right in.
