About Andrew
My first character died stupidly at a Catholic school camp, courtesy of the Red Box and a poor decision around a rope bridge. That was the start. I’ve lived through the Satanic Panic, the collapse of TSR, the rise of Magic: The Gathering, and the edition wars that left scars on many a character sheet. I’ve played FATE, SWADE, Vampire: The Masquerade, and more… but D&D keeps calling me back. 5e isn't flawless, but it’s flexible, familiar, and fun to build with especially when you know how to bend it. For decades, I didn’t know I was neurodivergent. Turns out I’m AuDHD. Somehow, TTRPGs helped me navigate a world that didn’t make sense. They gave me structure, creativity, and connection when I didn’t know I needed it. Now, with a diagnosis and a lifetime of storytelling behind me, I’m leaning in. I’m a forever DM, and if that’s my fate, I may as well help other forever DMs get to play (as well as anyone else who’s curious). I run immersive, cinematic games with modular design and mythic flair. Plot twists powered by distraction are my specialty and every side-quest has a tale worth telling. I love making people laugh, cry, get angry, get sad… and most of all, enjoy the stories they help create. Let’s roll for tangents and see what chaos we uncover together.

When I'm not running games I'm...
thinking about running games. Or looking for plots or stories to steal to run games. Or reading about games. Or watching how to be a better GM youtube show. Ok - truthfully, I'm working to support my gaming habit.
How Andrew runs games
Ah, the elusive Game Master… that shadowy figure behind the curtain, weaving a tapestry of shenanigans, peril, and plot twists powered by distraction. That’s me. I resist dusty categorization, preferring a storytelling style best described as “riverine”: meandering, mythic, and occasionally interrupted by metaphorical owls dispensing unsolicited wisdom. My campaigns are tangled delights, spaghetti plots flung with rogueish abandon, sauced with drama and served with a side of cosmic irony. Improvisation isn’t my fallback... it’s my feature. When players inevitably derail reality (often spectacularly), I bend the laws of narrative physics until they resemble a funhouse mirror with excellent lighting. Lore? I dispense it like breadcrumbs in a magical forest. It’s cryptic, chewy, and likely to spark wild gesticulation. My NPCs range from tragic to absurd, and the tone dances between epic and ridiculous with the grace of a bard on roller skates. Above all, I believe in collaborative chaos. The story belongs to everyone, and the dice are merely accomplices. Bring your curiosity, your character sheet, and your best theories. And maybe a cuppa. You’ll need it.

If my games were movies, they’d be directed by James Cameron… no, Clint Eastwood… wait, maybe Tarantino? Sometimes Tim Burton. But let’s be honest... they always spiral into Mel Brooks territory: epic stakes, emotional chaos, and at least one undead chicken with a tragic backstory.
When it comes to voices
I try hard. Sometimes it works and sometimes it fails. Chances are when this happens, it will be spectacular! Anyway, when looking at ways to communicate, there is always interpretative dance...
Andrew's ideal table
My table is a place for story builders, tangent chasers, and anyone who just wants to play. Whether you’re here to roleplay your heart out, roll dice and crack jokes, or quietly explore your character’s arc, you’re welcome as long as you understand we’re all here to have fun, together. I love a balanced table… players who build stories not just for themselves, but for everyone else. That means sharing the spotlight, cheering each other on, and helping the world feel alive. You don’t need to be a performer or a rules expert. Just bring curiosity, kindness, and a willingness to collaborate. The vibe? Cinematic, mythic, and occasionally ridiculous. I run games with emotional depth, epic stakes, and plot twists powered by distraction. We’ll laugh, cry, get angry, get sad and then probably derail the session with a side quest involving haunted cheese or a talking frog.

I love it when a player
throws themselves into the game with reckless abandon... emotionally, narratively, and occasionally with interpretive dance. (Not their PC, mind you. We all know how that ends: death, drama, and at least one cursed spoon.)
I think metagaming...
I think metagaming is a challenge! It’s an opportunity to twist the expected into the unexpected, break tropes wide open, and make “what you know” irrelevant. It’s not a flaw, it’s a puzzle. And when handled with care, it can fuel some of the most surprising story turns.
