About Ritzy

Professional Gamemaster | Storyteller | Dark Fantasy Worldbuilder Hey everyone! I'm Ritzy, lover of fantasy and all around purveyor of all things otherworldly currently accepting quests. I've been playing DnD for about six years total now with the majority as a game master, but with some time as a player. I got into the RPG space through Skyrim and Fallout, but my main interest initially developed through mapmaking. Since then I've ran dozens of campaigns and made a lot of friends that I owe to DnD, as well as an awesome hobby. I really enjoyed the aspect as a game master that allows you to wear all sorts of hats in terms of creative overlap, into things like creative writing, lore building, and so much more that has made DnD since become my favourite hobby. I love exploring worlds and reading stories, when I started my first campaign a long time ago, I hoped to provide my players the same kind of joy and experience I had when reading stories from Tolkien or Star Wars. Some of my fondest memories come from campaigns in which the players' actions helped develop future adventures that I hope to continue sharing. Thank you for reading, and in case you were wondering, yes, you do level up!

My favorite shows/movies are

Westworld, Arcane, Severance, True Detective, Dark, Arcane, Castlevania, Sinners, Andor. I absolutely love shows that feature stories about power, morality, and the human condition.

People are always surprised when I tell them

I was a former challenger and rank 1 Reksai on League of Legends 😎

When I'm not running games I'm...

Preparing for my next game 😂. No, you'll usually find me at work, playing BG3, League, Marvel Rivals, chess, or cycling through whatever hyper fixation I have that week.

How Ritzy runs games

I always like to offer an experience for players in addition to everything DnD offers as is. For me, running a session is like an episode of an epic collaborative story between the table. In my experience, I've ran all sorts of games, including high-stakes combat and role-play oriented narratives. Still, a theme or aspect between my games that would apply ubiquitously would be the details I incorporate in the game like handouts, ambience, art, visual effects, sound effects, and other similar features that are aimed at immersion. Little things like being able to fish in a game like Red Dead Redemption or mini-games like Gwent in the Witcher. I love investing into these types of details because it feels like the focus of the world widens in an immersive way. Overall, I'd describe myself as a "yes, and" GM. I enjoy building on my players' ideas, rewarding creativity whenever possible, and treating the table as a collaborative storytelling experience.

Ritzy's ideal table

I would describe my games as being the most fulfilling to players who share the same enthusiasm for storytelling and collaboration that I do and lean into the unsolved parts of the world. The vibe at my tables is respectful, immersive, welcoming, cinematic, and character driven. I always strive to make small moments contribute to the overarching narrative and have actions carry meaningful consequences. I love fostering an environment where everyone gets to shine and celebrate each other's success or look up after downfalls.
