My favorite system of all Time is
My favorite system of all time is Daggerheart. The Hope and Fear dice make every roll meaningful, Connection Questions deepen bonds, and tag team combat feels dynamic. With Experiences and Campaign Frames, it's the perfect blend of narrative depth and collaborative play.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
cinematic, chaotic, and caring.
When I'm not running games I'm...
crafting homebrew content, editing actual plays, teaching high school computer science, or chasing my kids around the house like a sleep-deprived mimic.
How GM RiceKombo runs games
As a GM, my style is a blend of collaboration, immersion, and dynamic storytelling. I thrive on creating roleplay-heavy games that invite my players to deeply engage with their characters and the world around them. Political intrigue weaves through my narratives, offering players layers of conflict, alliances, and opportunities to shape the story in meaningful ways. I embrace a "yes-and" philosophy, ensuring that my players feel empowered to contribute to the narrative. Their ideas, decisions, and backstories aren't just acknowledged—they become vital threads in the tapestry of the game. Together, we build something richer than what I could create alone. The worlds I craft are alive. They're not static backdrops but ever-moving, evolving environments that react to the players' choices. NPCs have their own goals, factions are always scheming, and time doesn't wait for anyone. My goal is to immerse players in a setting that feels tangible, with consequences that ripple outward, making their decisions feel impactful. Ultimately, I aim to make every session a collaborative journey where my players aren't just participants, they're co-authors in an epic and unfolding tale.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Guillermo del Toro moody, magical, a little weird, and always full of heart.
I once ran a session...
where the party boarded a burning skyship mid-crash, battling fire elementals while racing to rescue captives in the lower decks. The engine core; an unstable Phoenix Heart, threatened to explode, and they had to decide: save the ship, or escape with their lives.
Rules are...
tools, not chains, they shape the story, but the story always comes first.
GM RiceKombo's ideal table
At my table, you’ll find a welcoming, story-first vibe where collaboration drives the adventure. We celebrate character choices, emotional arcs, and cinematic moments. Whether you're a seasoned player or brand new, if you love roleplay, worldbuilding, and weaving deep connections with other players, you'll fit right in. We laugh, we feel, we sometimes cry, and we always root for each other. Respect, inclusivity, and a shared love of narrative storytelling are core values; and snacks are always encouraged (virtual or otherwise). If you're into games that feel like an ensemble fantasy drama or a found family saga, this is your table.

I love it when a player
surprises me with a bold choice; something that rewrites the story, deepens their character, or throws the table into collective laughter or awe.
I think it's a red flag when players...
dismiss others’ ideas, dominate the spotlight, or treat the game like a competition instead of a collaboration.
