About Travis
I'm a forever DM who started in 2018 and have almost strictly DM'd ever since. I've been hosting free games for my friends and some great strangers from across the internet for quite some time now. However after feeling the experience of a Paid Table, the players are so much more immersed into their characters which pushes the overall environment of the table to entirely new levels. I love folk horror and mysteries, puzzles, and a more relaxed table environment. I want there to be tension, but I dont enjoy pushing my players to the limits and having them face death at every corner.

How Travis runs games
I love environmental exploration, creating towns and cities you can fully experience and dig into while you try and better understand your surroundings. I encourage tactics and reward creativity through all scenarios while trying to maintain the stakes within combat. I don't personally enjoy pushing my players to the limits regularly though I am trying to get better at actually providing those tensions of a boss fight, I enjoy writing the story alongside my players and creating a new adventure for every party.

I deal with rules issues by...
gathering votes from players on how they'd like to address the rulings. If they all vote in favor for a non-game breaking ruling im typically fine with adjusting them.
I prep by
Turning on some good music and just typing out random ideas for larger story arcs. When i get a few that seem interesting I create storylines on how the players may experience the different aspects of that story.
My games focus on...
A balance of Combat, Puzzles, RP, and a little Mystery mixed in
Travis's ideal table

I love it when a player
Does something unexpected (but not gamebreaking)
I think it's a red flag when players...
don't take the game seriously. Its one thing to have fun and make jokes which can be fun for everyone, but players should pay attention and actively want to be at my tables
I think metagaming...
has a negative effect on the fun of the table. Try and play the game the way its meant to be played and the way your character would handle these experiences
