About Quinton

I am a 19 year old theatre actor who has been acting for seven years. This coupled with my creative worldbuilding & voice skills has made Dungeon Mastering the perfect way for me to stretch my creative legs. Whether it be building maps, painting minis, making stories, or creating 36 different dnd gods, and countless other world building things, I love it all!

I became a GM because

I wanted to create the experience that I wanted to play in, with in depth roleplay, involved character backstories, and player choice driven campaigns!

My favorite shows/movies are

Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars the Clone Wars, and The Office!

When I'm not running games I'm...

performing on stage for a scholarship at my college! I do musicals and plays on scholarship at Bethel University with my Dungeons and Dragons group!

How Quinton runs games

Hello and I am your humble Dungeon Master Quinton! My games are action packed adventures that are driven by character choices and player backstories. Embedding player backstories into the plot and world is something I strive to do with every single unique player character! I strive to create an interesting world for my players to inhabit so that they can have as much fun as possible. Introducing numerous plot hooks is how I like to run games, so that the individual gaming group can choose where the adventure will go! This is the benefit of me only ever running Homebrew settings. That way I can fill in the plot as the players pursue it! While there will be a fair amount of tough combat, scary monsters, and difficult encounters, I strive to have my games lean more on story, roleplay, and social encounters than on combat encounters. This is due to my background as a theatre actor. I love to facilitate tense conversations or intriguing dialogue to give my players the chance to feel like the characters that they are portraying. Being immersed through music, description, voice acting, and digital player handouts is also something I strive to do. I want my players to feel that my world is tangible, real, and all around them. Player choice and decision is the bedrock of my play style. The players tell the story, I set the scenes, and the dice decide our fate. My players have free reign in the world I have created to become Heroes, Villans, or something else entirely...

I once ran a session...

where the players all decided to distract the town guards by performing a made-up play that they named "The Misguided Ones." And thus, the adventuring party received its name.

My games focus on...

the character’s backstories, the choices they make, and the relationships they form. Players forming in character relationships with each other is essential so that the game feels emotionally impactful and driven by the story!

When it comes to voices

I always bring my A game! I love doing all kinds of different accents, tones, and timbres!

Quinton 's ideal table

My table is a rule of cool first type of table. The rules are there in the game to facilitate the players fun, and if a rule takes away the fun, who needs it? Roleplay comes first in my games, along with character voices and relationships. Players who are there with acting experience as well as players who create complex backstories fit well at my table. The more you bring to the character, the deeper I can seed them into the world! Players who are combat focused can still have fun at my table, as I enjoy running dangerous and deadly encounters. However, I often run a combat every other session, so be aware of that If you are a combat focused player.

I love it when a player

goes out of their way to have a conversation with a player character or a none player character.

I think min/maxing...

is a wonderful thing in Dungeons & Dragons! I myself love to create complex multi-classed characters with insane mechanics and damage. If, however, a character is made that takes away the fun from other players, I may ask the min-maxed character to change some minor things.

My table is not the place for...

players who think they are the main character. Our goal together is to tell a story together and forge relationships between the characters, players, and Game Master. The spotlight will be on certain characters at certain times, and players who support others during their time to shine are the best!
