About Povs
Hello! My name is Povs and I've been a GM for about eight years. As I read through the Dungeon Master's Guide for the first time and watched live plays, I fell in love with the worldbuilding of the Forgotten Realms, Spelljammer and Planescape settings. As time went on, I dove deep into D&D books, first 5e then 2e with its expansive catalogue of lore and history to delve into. For the next 2 years I've read countless D&D rule books and novels, learning everything about the world and cosmology of D&D before starting to GM. Fast forward to now, I have many ongoing campaigns (One that's still going strong for 8 years) and played in and GMed numerous one-shots. My GMing style often have extreme focus on lore, worldbuilding, exploration and character-driven interaction, with my players often citing my game as "Slice-of-Life if it had deep lore adventures". I GM almost all of games in the Planescape, Forgotten Realms and Spelljammer settings, these of which I am most comfortable with, while listening to my players' characters' backstories and incorporating them into the setting seamlessly.

How Povs runs games
My GMing style is very Roleplay-focused, with lots of lore and stories to immerse yourself into. I follow the lore of D&D's settings like Planescape, Forgotten Realms and Spelljammer pretty often, with a focus on player exploration and curiosity, making the most out of NPCs and the interactions with them. My games usually follow a pretty smooth, slice-of-life side of roleplay that focus on character interaction and interpersonal relationships. Combat does happen however, which I try to tailor to my players' skillsets and experiences. Often I add new, crunchy mechanics outside of combat that are modified of heavily inspired from older editions.

My favorite trope is...
"Planet of the Week"/"Planetville": When every few episodes the heroes are in a different place that has its unique rules, encounters and characters to meet. Think of Infinity Train, Star Trek, Doctor Who or any other show in which features planehopping or planet-hopping.
My games focus on...
Roleplay, Lore and Exploration, with a focus on inter-personal relationships between PCs and NPCs.
Rules are...
to be generally followed unless there is conflict with the interpretation or ambiguity, at which point a ruling that benefits everyone is the correct path to take!
Povs's ideal table
My ideal table are players that like to be immersed in the lore of a location, that would love to read a few pages of fictional history if it were sent, even if it doesn't have much to do with the current plot. Those who enjoy reading wikis and try to discover every bit of information they can. Those who enjoy slice-of-life, those calm moments where an NPC and a PC or a whole party just sit to converse and roleplay amongst themselves by the campfire. Those who enjoy exploring different locations every week, that love to see new fictional places with their own rules, customs and people.
