About Beezy the Pickle DM
Salutations, adventurer! I’m Beezy, the Pickle DM! I was invited to my first D&D campaign back in 2024, and I’ve been hooked ever since. These days, I run 3-4 tables/week of D&D 5.5e with a touch of homebrew. My favorite part of DMing is watching a group come together, tackling the problems in front of them, and inevitably coming up with a solution I never saw coming. Whether you’re here for combat, roleplay, or just rolling dice and getting into trouble with a good group, I want the table to feel like a fun, collaborative adventure. Oh, and I make artisanal pickles as a sidehustle. That's where the name comes from. Hope to see you at one of my tables!

I ran my first game...
As a one shot amongst friends. I was so nervous and was trying so hard to make it perfect that I ended up drenched in sweat most of the session and threw up on the way home. Nowadays I feel like it's second nature, and I know running games is something I'm going to be doing for the rest of my life.
I started running games because...
I love telling scary and mysterious stories! I tried DMing and realized it's basically a more fun and exciting version of that. The idea of collaborative storytelling is something I wished I had known about sooner!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Making pickles and hot sauce! I've been licensed for just over a year now and having a blast.
How Beezy the Pickle DM runs games
I love staying true to the theme of a campaign, both in roleplay and combat. My games combine preparation with plenty of improv, allowing me to surrender as much narrative control as possible to the players and give them the freedom to pursue their own goals. Giving players stakes beyond just killing the bad guy is important to me, especially when the characters have some sort of connection to the current quest. Good roleplay is highly rewarded at my tables, and I love watching players come together and make the world a different place with their decisions.

My favorite trope is...
Ridiculously old and silly wizards.
My games focus on...
The PC's being the heroes of the story in their own unique way.
Rules are...
A great tool to stay grounded and immersed in the world. Exceptions are necessary in some cases to ensure fun for all but generally speaking a table that stays within the rules allows for a more enjoyable experience.
Beezy the Pickle DM's ideal table
I enjoy most settings as long as players fit well with each other. I get most enjoyment out of DMing when players come together to solve a problem in-game. Players with a good sense of humor and who work well in a group tend to fit in best at my tables. The general vibe at the table is fun with a meaningful challenge.

I love it when a player
Tees up another player for a big moment in the spotlight. I think stepping aside and watching your comrades be awesome is the coolest thing you can do at the table.
