About Katy
I'm Katy, your guide through the dying realms, the smoke-choked cities, and the fractured dreams of worlds where gods have fallen and power comes at a price. I’m a 32-year-old GM with 5+ years of experience running and playing Dungeons & Dragons. Throughout the highs and lows, lockdown life, and the ultimate battle with cancer, DND has been my consistent escape from life and being a GM means I can share that glorious escapism with you. I have seen player characters fall in love, achieve godhood, break worlds and face their worst nightmares. Through the laughter, the tears and the chaos, we forge memories to last a lifetime and characters that mean the world to you. In my games, your backstory isn’t just flavour, it’s fuel for the world. If you’re looking for a world where every choice cuts deep and no path is truly clean, you’ve found it. My games thrive on tension, consequence, and characters shaped by what they survive...or don’t. No easy answers. No perfect heroes. Just you, your flaws, and the story you carve into the world. If this sounds like your kind of thing, you might have just found your Forever GM.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...
I've asked my players to provide these: Interweaving storytelling genius Immersive, tentative, detailed Exciting, worldbuilder, caring Creative, adaptable, quick-thinking
When I'm not running games I'm...
Prepping them or plotting with players! When I'm not doing that I'm playing video games like Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk2077, Final Fantasy, 7 days to die, honestly there's far too many to list. The rest of the time I'm in the gym, working, reading or writing.
How Katy runs games
I am the kind of GM who builds worlds that breathe, and then lets you set them on fire. My games are character-driven, choice-heavy, and unapologetically immersive. Expect rich roleplay, not just with NPCs, but between players, as your party navigates a world that reacts to what you do, not what I planned. You’ll shape the story through your decisions, alliances, and mistakes. The world is open, the threads are many, and the direction is yours to choose. But with freedom comes consequence, and in my games, actions always have consequences. You’ll get a mix of combat from fast-paced brawls to tactical challenges where a single clever move (or panicked roll) turns the tide. Difficulty scales with you, and death is always a possibility, but I’m not here to kill you. This isn’t GM vs. Player. It’s a shared story. A dangerous one. Morality in my worlds is rarely black and white. Choices won’t always be clear. Outcomes won’t always be clean. I want you thinking about this game between sessions, puzzling over lore, questioning your party’s next move, feeling the weight of every decision. We’ll use battlemaps for combat and puzzles when needed, but much of the game plays out in theatre of the mind, along with a few visual prompts to spark your imagination. And if you’ve got secret goals, dark pasts, or schemes in the works, bring them to me. I love plotting with players behind the scenes. I am always happy to talk about DND!

I prep by
I create threads for players to follow, NPCs, locations and lore to discover. But I keep planning every detail of a session to a minimum, because I guarantee if I plan for you to do one thing, you'll find a way to do another. This way, going off the rails isn't a problem, you have freedom of choice.
My favorite trope is...
Morally grey! Nothing is clear cut, there are pros and cons to everything and every action has consequences.
Rules are...
More like guidelines. We like rules as long as they make the gameplay more fun, however, if there's something you want to do I encourage you to ask! You never know, you might get to do something awesome like ascend to godhood or maybe just ride a dragon.
Katy's ideal table
My table is a nice balance of laid back and serious, we can have a joke and a laugh, but we get serious when the story calls for it. We love to roleplay, develop characters, backstory plots and dive deep into lore. We love to chat, even outside of the game. If you have a funny gif you want to post in response to something happening in game, go for it. My table is a place for fun, laughter, crying, forgetting the real world and diving into something else. We don't let real life drama spoil things here.

I love it when a player
Messages me with something they want to do, plotting and scheming for your character is so much fun. I love it when players are engrossed in the world and want to talk about it even outside of game. If you have questions about the game, I'm more than happy to answer them.
I think metagaming...
is a good way to spoil the fun. Stick to what your character knows and everyone will have a lot more fun!
My table is not the place for...
Drama! The only drama our table should have is the epic, dramatic roleplaying and storytelling kind. If that bleeds out into in real life interactions, then this isn't the right table for that.
