About Ochu

Are YOU craving something that really stirs your emotions, to the very cockles of your SOUL??? Are YOU ready to be a part of something? Something grander than yourself? Something you can look fondly on in the future, puff out your chest and say "Yeah, I DID that." Are YOU ready to be REMEMBERED? Some day when you are old and withered, your grandkids bouncing on your knee, you will wistfully tell them the grand tales of your adventures as they look up at you with dinnerplate-sized eyes, thinking "Wow, my grandparent is SO COOL! I want to be just like them!" A Good GM is but a humble Weaver, my friends, their voice just another thread among the many that it takes to create a truly beautiful work of TTRPG art. SO, what say you, Traveler?! COME! Join me on this quest, and together we shall weave our voices together into the beautiful tapestry that is...OUR STORY.

How Ochu runs games

My GMing style is very open-ended. My job is to create our world - A moving, breathing organism in and of itself - and to set up the building blocks for an Adventure: Birth important locations, fill them with NPCs, their motivations, timelines, and a Lore of their own. My goal before our campaign even begins is to know exactly what would happen to this World down to every last detail EXCEPT ONE: WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO DO. As a player, YOUR job is to figure out how your character is invested into said world and contributes to it's story, influencing how the Events around you take shape.. As such, my campaigns are often player-focused emotional journeys that lean heavily into roleplay in the overarching storyline. I try to keep things fresh from session to session by maintaining a healthy balance between the 3 core pillars of TTRPGs: Combat, Roleplay, and Exploration. There may be a Roleplay-heavy session that is entirely held in the Chateau of some Noble, which will be followed by the Noble requesting you explore an abandoned Spice mine found on his property the next session, which will then be followed by a chance encounter with DEADLY SPICE GOLEMS deep within the mine the session after that!
