About Emma

I’m a disabled, dyslexic Game Master with 11 years of TTRPG experience as a player and 6 years behind the screen. GMing is my main thing—I specialise in fantasy and supernatural storytelling and love running homebrew worlds (settings of my own creation), while happily stealing inspiration from movies, TV, games, and anything else that sparks a good scene. I’m also a disabled streamer, writer, and amateur voice actor. Writing is a huge part of how I GM: I’m currently working on three stories for my books and three homebrew worlds for my games—one inspired by Vampire: The Masquerade and two for Dungeons & Dragons 5e. I draw a lot of inspiration from video games and different genres, and while books can be harder for me because of dyslexia, I’m powering through with the help of dyslexia aids. At the table, I’ve run everything from 1-on-1 character dramas to big, chaotic 7–8 player parties, in both homebrew campaigns and published modules. I’ve also played and run Pathfinder, Mage: The Awakening, Cyberpunk Red, and more—learning new systems is something I genuinely enjoy, and it helps me bring fresh ideas into my D&D games. Important note: while I stream, I don’t currently stream my D&D games—your table is for the players, not an audience. And yes—I’m an animal lover with two cheeky cats, Niffler and Pixel. You may hear them on stream, see them cause chaos, or even catch them “helping” by appearing at the worst possible moment. My goal is simple: help people discover how fun, emotional, and downright awesome TTRPGs can be, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned dice goblin. Thanks for reading—welcome to the Story Book!

I became a GM because

i always wanted to tell stories and so since i was little i was writing stories but i never until i found dnd and ttrpgs found a platform where i could express them in a way that i was truly passionate about

I got started GMing...

to open up my world from a dark time and i love the imagination and creativity it brings out and how it connects people together and discovering my passion for the game and being able to express myself saved my life so i wanna share that with others and make things a little brighter.

How Emma runs games

I run roleplay-first games, with combat as a spice rather than the main course. You can expect plenty of social encounters, both in and out of combat, along with strong opportunities for character interaction and relationship-building. I like games where player characters form meaningful bonds with each other and with NPCs, rather than just moving from one quest giver to the next. I also enjoy problem-solving that goes beyond the obvious answer. Some of my favourite moments come from players coming up with wild, clever, or unexpected solutions, and I try to leave room for that kind of creativity in play. More broadly, I focus on stories where party dynamics, friendships, and emotional investment matter just as much as the mechanics on the sheet. I am also very much a Rule of Cool GM. If an idea is creative, makes sense for the scene, and feels fun, I will usually try to find a way to make it work. I want players to feel encouraged to think boldly, engage with the world, and try things that make the game more memorable. As an accessibility note, I am a dyslexic GM, so with player permission I record sessions for my own reference and note-taking. Recording is essential to how I run my games because it helps me maintain continuity, remember important details, and keep the story consistent for everyone. These recordings are stored privately, and only on the game’s server if that has been agreed to, and they are used purely to help me prepare better, track the campaign accurately, and support the overall experience for the group.

Rules are...

meant to be there to guide play but cool moments and story beats are more important

Emma's ideal table

If you want a game that feels like a TV series you cannot stop thinking about, where you fall in love with NPCs, panic over impossible choices, and celebrate small victories just as much as the big boss fights, then you will likely fit right in at my table. That is the kind of experience I strive to create for my players. I run heavy roleplay, character-driven stories where your choices genuinely matter. Your backstory is not just flavour text; it becomes part of the plot and helps shape the direction of the campaign. You can expect personal arcs, messy emotions, found family energy, and quiet moments that often hit harder than any critical hit. I lean strongly into Rule of Cool, so if you describe something cinematic and it makes sense in the fiction, I will do my best to make it happen. I also use player-friendly homebrew, including small boosts, narrative flexibility, and creative allowances that reward imagination without breaking balance or taking the spotlight away from other players. My games are 18+, not because they are focused on explicit content, but because I enjoy exploring mature themes, complex relationships, and moral grey areas with players who can communicate clearly and engage with nuance. Even so, this is an ensemble cast, not a main character show. You do not need to be a professional actor to play at my table, but I do ask that you are willing to give roleplay an honest try, collaborate with others, and share the spotlight so everyone has a chance to shine. I aim for my tables to be welcoming, inclusive, and LGBTQIA+ friendly. I have zero tolerance for harassment, bigotry, or discrimination of any kind. I am always learning, and if I get something wrong, I will listen, correct it, and do better. Respect and safety matter just as much to me as good storytelling. In terms of content and boundaries, there is no explicit sexual content at my table. Romance is welcome when there is clear consent, but anything beyond light affection will fade to black. Sensitive topics such as suicide, self-harm, murder, or child abuse will only appear if everyone has explicitly agreed to their inclusion, and even then they will never be described in graphic detail. They will be handled off-screen, lightly referenced, or faded out. Whenever possible, players will also have opportunities in the story to intervene and prevent harm. I use a simple safeword system alongside other safety tools. If a safeword is used, I pause the scene, ask what element needs changing rather than why, and remove or adjust it immediately. There is no pressure, no judgement, and no expectation that anyone has to explain themselves. If you are looking for a table that is collaborative, cinematic, emotionally invested, and built around safety and respect, you will feel at home here. If you do not, please talk to me. I can only maintain that inclusive feeling if we communicate, whether that is by text or by voice. My door is open to you, adventurers.

I am for a vibe that's...

is causal, fun, wacky but can still have those deeper and darker moments with out causing real life stress just the stress that comes when your invested in the game.

I love it when a player

uses there imagination to try out new ideas even if it not rules as written that i can say yes to them doing so i can describe either there awesome success or failure in a way that was inspires and entertains my party
