About Chris
G'day! My name is Chris and I have been DMing games of Dungeons & Dragons for 26 years. I am a professional GameMaster running 40+ hours of PF1e and PF2e every week, with more than 50 paying customers spread across ten weekly campaigns. Not only do I have a pro subscription on Roll20, but I also own every available Roll20 resource for D&D 5e. I also own five Foundry VTT licenses with Forge hosting. Additionally, I have an extensive collection of tokens, a massive collection of high-quality battle maps, custom status tokens, a Syrinscape subscription, a private Discord server with a thriving community of more than 70 players, and a truly colossal collection of third-party reference materials (over 1,000 titles).

I got started GMing...
playing 2nd edition way back in 1996.
My favorite books are
Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, The First Law, The Black Company, ASOIAF, Mistborn, Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Expanse, the Horus Heresy series, and anything Stephen King.
My favorite system of all Time is
a toss up between Pathfinder 1e’s crunch and D&D 4e’s gameplay.
How Chris runs games
I am a story first kind of DM. This isn't to say that I don't love a bit of swashbuckling combat or a deadly dungeon crawl, but I am also keenly aware that you put a lot of time and effort into creating your characters. I like to reward that by building a narrative around your characters' wants and needs, as well as providing cinematic moments that give near-death experiences (and death itself) greater meaning. We're collaborating to tell the epic story of the elements, the corruption that comes with power, and the dangers of unchecked progress - not competing against one another. As long as you understand that, you're going to have a great time.

Rules are...
important, but they aren’t infallible. They can certainly be improved upon.
My games focus on...
telling engaging stories full of memorable battles, fun roleplay, and lots of laughter.
If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Shaun Levy.
Chris's ideal table
I enjoy playing with people who understand that D&D (and its offshoots) is a collaborative game. While it is my job to challenge your characters, I am ultimately on your side, and I win when you win. I love role players and roll players equally, but am not a huge fan of rule purists or power gamer munchkins.

I love it when a player
recalls an obscure piece of lore I dropped earlier in the campaign.
I think metagaming...
isn’t quite cheating, but I still don’t like it.
I think min/maxing...
Is fine, provided you’re not combative with me as a DM, and you allow others their chances to shine. You are not the main character.
